well i bought this from a hamber a couple of months ago. i'm finally getting around to a little change. nothing like a deadline to get me moving.(hot rod reunion next week) just thought i'd show some pics and see what you guys thought. it's my first time to do scallops. i'm putting the motor in today. it won't be running because i still have a lot to change to fit me...peddles, shifter and so on. gonna change the cowl to more of a rounded look...get rid of the flat look. but i'm taking it to bowling green to get some advice as to the best way to go about doing what i need to do. only want to do it once. but i will be driving it at mokan! kinda feels strange not taking my coupe this yr. first yr it hasn't been. anyway here are the pics. looks a little more "hotrod" now.
Looks better with that paint. I agree on the "rounded" look, I saw this on another thread when you brought it home and thought it looked too flat. On mine we put a crown in the middle so it wouldn't look so flat, makes a bit of a difference.
i'm gonna pull the motor plate out and mill it more rounded in the top corners....that will help alot then putting a dash type design at the other end to also give it some height.
Sure a rounder cowl will look a little better, but it looks pretty good from here like it is..... nice scallops. Looking forward to seeing it in aug.
just a 454 for now. i want to get used to driving it first before i get crazy and i've got plenty of those layin around.
thanks....i'm not real big on scallops either, just wanted to change the way it looked and only had 1 day. i was really just playing around. wasn't sure how it would turn out, but i like it.
man that looks great. I agree, the cowl could have a little more shape, but when you get your engine is setting in there it'll put a lot of focus elsewhere.
