I bought a 23 T altered and i beleave it is a logghe chassis. I would like to see if you guys have any photos . Thanks Mike
There some pics over at Metalshapers under: The Logghe Stamping Scrapbook Here's the only pic I have of the Logghe Altered Gus
My guess would be no. It doesn't have the safety craftmanship. That cage is not built for 7 seconds. Looks like maybe something you would find on a 10 second car.
when this car was built it was top of the line.................craftmanship ?, Looks like it was built by a crafty fucker to me i'm going with early R&B chassis but ????
The steering looks a bit odd to me. Hell of an angle from the pitman are down to the rocker. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?
Looks like a nice find. Here's a couple more pics of a Logghe Chassis, yours looks a little different style but it's hard to say, as I'm sure it depended on what year it was made. The cars got faster and faster during those years so I'm sure the chassis designs changed. Gus
Looks like something out of the late 60's, with a newer roll-cage added to it. Not sure about top of the line, but looks like they might have used a jig. Looks like it would be a lot of fun! Get that thing finished and over to Mokan this summer.
I was cleaning on the front wheels and they are stamped ( PEAK ) . The peek brothers ran a altered but there name spelled diffrent ???
Gus, The Logghe T you posted was built by Gene Logghe with the help of his brother Ron and Ed Strickland. It was featured in HRM April 62, the magazine calls the .060 tube chassis 'homebuilt'. The later chassis in the Ron Ellis car was straight from their catalog although that doesn't eliminate any other earlier designs that may have evolved. CC
Mike, you always come up with some cool shit! I need to get out too Harrison. Just don't Karoke Garth Brooks songs anymore My Wife is still pissed about me hangin with you guys at the Exec. Bar until three in the morning!
A straight on photo of the 4 point cage and front suspension would be a big help. Still great to see something found unmolested.
