was just reading some old posts about applying gold leaf and got to thinking about who is who in the striping game, was just curious as to who you guys thought is/was the best...and you dont have to put ed roth and von dutch cause everyone knows that is a totally different league...and it doesnt have to be that whoever you put first you think is better than second i am just curious about who other people like, hopefully this will open some doors for not so well known local stripers to be seen, so lets start posting...i'll begin

-alan johnston (legend and a great all around helpful person!)

-Ray "el vago" "safariknut" (yet again another celebrity on this board, but also someone who is VERY VERY good at what he does and is willing to share)

-Anthony white "00 mack" (i've never met him but he striped my friends car and i love his work, great flow and awesome lines, check him out...well everybody knows him already lol)

so there is my three like i said no single one is better than the other they are just my favorite three

In New englang it seems like its Larry Hook, he does excellant work & and also has a few sweet, historic cars( Norm Wallace roadster)
Charlie Decker is also up there & there use be aguy named Dave Jones in narragansett who was also great.

  23. WOW! I didn't think anyone here knew of Walt. PS-answer your PM's

  24. I'll second the Donn Varner(yes it is spelled correctly). He was probably the first striper who inspired me to get into the business.November 1956 Rod and Custom.

Is Ron Lussier still alive? He striped Fred Steele's purple Deuce around 1954 or 55 and it is still on the car.

Art Summers was one of the unsung heroes of striping and definitely one of the first.

To be perfectly honest,ALL stripers are my favorite as they are contributing to the perpetuation of the art.

Being a striper myself listing only 3 is almost impossible. Here are a few favorites of mine though.

    Louie Allison (louie)

    Rocky Burris Jr. (Rocky Jr.)

    Whiskey

    Blaine-O

    Ron Myers (Myers)

    Anthony White (00 MACK)

    Alan Johnson

    Herb Martinez

    Jr. Huff

...the list goes on, just because of all of the inspiration these people put out for me!
