As some of you know, Mama Rash and I live right off 66, between Catoosa and Claremore OKlahoma, 2-3 miles from the Blue Whale. Whoever is in charge of the thing now is really trying to fix it up and started decorating it for Christmas. So, we went over tonight for the first ever lighting of the whale. Pretty cool. Pretty COLD! They also lit the "Ark" and whatever the other building is. I'll get pics of it and post later, there were too many cars and people around to snap a pic... Sorry the pics are lousy... shot from a cell

read an article awhile back on it's closing some time back....hoping to get my nieces and grandnieces over there from Yukon...with my adventuerous sister as well....
tomorrow night climb on top with some roman candles and have your wife take video of the whale blowing it's top. If you get caught, 3WLarry will bail you out. Don't let us down...
Hahaha, no stay, credit for time served. We'll get Larry to light the fuse while you hold the rockets! That thing is sooo amazing! I'd of loved to been a kid during it's prime.
Didn't know they were doing that. Guess when the wife & I go out to look at lights tomorrow we'll swing by there. Thanks for the pics!
Boy, I'm glad to hear that someone still cares about it. A couple of years ago, myself and two friends rode our Harleys down 66 from Springfield, Mo to Bristow, Ok. The whale was one of the stops that we took a ton of pics of. I looked around and thought it was a shame that it had been let go. I can't wait to get back out on 66 and make a stop by the whale, hopefully this next year in the '46.
Grew up in Tulsa, went to high school in Claremore and I never did go swimming there. Something about having alligators and snakes close by that did'nt set well with me.
