Technical Let's talk Headers. 57 3100 P/U

I'm sticking a small block in my 57 P/U. The old 6 is coming out and anew V8 is going in. So, it needs a set of headers. No body sells this set up. You would think as popular as this body style truck is , somebody would have a set of headers.

My thinking was, engine and tranny are the same with a small block. I was going to buy a set from Hooker until it said will not fit a truck.

Is it the steering ? Underside, engine back would be the same. ( I think)

I used Hedman on my 58 and they fit just fine. I think they are made to fit 55-66 Chevy trucks.

 

yeah, these ones should fit. they clear the crossmember under the bellhousing, so they do hang down kind of low. might be a problem on a seriously lowered truck.
