    Shop find cyclecar!
(I looked in my shop and there it was). Frustrated- trying to find the funds to finish it. Anybody else have that problem?

I'm looking for an investor(s) to put it in production. Mainly need the motor and a few of the more costly items to finish. Gofundme seems to serve those with a righteous cause. Claiming the world needs more cycle cars is a hard sell.
I'm not well connected in Portland so I'm having a hard time finding the right people to talk to. Keeping it under wraps until it's ready for sale for many reasons. But here is a peek.

Oh...she's rather charming with her skirt lifted
I can appreciate holding cards close and it ain't what but who ya know. Looks ready for V Twin out in the breeze. "GoFundMe" was feeble attempt at humor.

EriK B, is that a heavily reworked 28-29 Ford radiator shell or a hand made one? Bob

The shell is hand made and polished from aluminum as well as the hood. Influenced by a deuce shell. About the only thing I bought is the Model A headlamp buckets and the wire wheels. If I invented an app or some artisinal kambucha I could get community funding but not so much with a gas burning car. Can't really show it without that exposed engine.

Nice project but safety liability will kill any hope of ever producing it, sorry for the reality check. Bob

Bob- There are quite a few motorcycled engined cars for sale. Doesn't seem to bother them.

Here's an enigma. The supplied caption "Racing cars lined up at starting line at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition"
    aad-1915 SF Race, Allegedly.jpg
    Additional info attached:
"28 - Frank Young's Ono, Hughie Hughes, 31st to start. 2 - Duesenberg, Tom Alley, 14th to start. 9 - Peugeot, D. Resta, 9th. 6 - Mercer, G. E. Ruckstell, 2. 19 - Duesenberg, Edward O'Donnell, 35. 10 - Mercer, Louis Nikrent, 9. 22 - Mercedes, Ralph De Palma, 28." The numbers, drivers & cars in the description match up to the 1915 Vanderbilt, which was held at the Pan-Pacific Expo, but cars in the pic do not.
In particular, the car in the foreground is described as the Ono, but the Ono was a Fiat S74, one of the biggest cars ever raced, but with a 389ci Pope-Toledo four instead of the massive original Fiat engine. The cyclecar in the foreground clearly couldn't take a 389 inch 4, so what is it, and what are the other cyclecar/light car entries?
Here is a pic of the real Ono as it appeared in 1915 (it still exists):

I went looking for a better pic:
    upload_2018-8-13_19-37-58.jpeg
I also found a view from the other end of the row:
    Old-1.jpg
So we know the race now, which was won by Harry Hartz in no. 22:

Number 28 looks like one of Harry Hartz's previous cars:
    upload_2018-8-13_19-18-30.jpeg
Both were powered by Indian PowerPlus twins. Can anyone identify any of the other cars? Apparently, the organizers thought it was cute to give the baby cars the same numbers as the big cars...
More info about these at The Old Motor, run by our own @T-Head.

I'm not sure what article on The Old Motor you are referring to. The only semi-related article published since May was
Art Smith – The Life and Times of “The Comet”, and none of the cars in that blog post look like the cars that raced in the Baby Vanderbilt. Smith used his baby cars in his aerial act, and did race them occasionally.

  18. Great movie. The car is a Morgan judging by the sliding bar front suspension.

It looks more like a transverse leaf spring front end to my eye. Hard to tell.

From the Automotive Weirdness thread. Any guesses what cyclecar forms the base for it?

Yes, I looks to be tail wheel steering, which confines it to low (taxi) speed, too.
