  1. Glad you left that 8th one out . . . sometimes a 'Bad Piston' needs to sit in the corner for awhile . . . until it gets better attitude. LOL

How can you fit rollers under those low profile valve covers? Are the heads built to suit?

  3. Probably meant a roller-cam, not necessarily roller rockers . . .

It looks to me that there is a flange coupling on the front of the crank. could this be used in a boat " V drive" ?

. Looks like there is a v-drive mounted right on the crank flange that is driving the blower, and the output to the prop goes under the oil pan. Blower to front of boat, magneto to rear.

  10. Was thinking of the motors orientation due to the angle of the exhausts. JW

  11. Yep, along with the gulped valve, bent H beam Scat rod, vintage head I ported... Lots of expensive broken parts.
Like your screen name, I like to say my engine is "poked and stroked''.

They are n.o.s. set of Competition Cams Gold Aluminum rockers on Dart heads. I relieved the Mickey T's of the dripper tits and they clear. Yes, the cam is a solid roller from Erson.

  17. The price looks like $15,000 - which if I'm correct, is actually quite cheap for an engine like this (if it is in good condition and has decent parts in it).

I think I posted this before, but here's the new and improved edition that's going into my Zipper next week image.jpeg

  19. I'm grabbing at straws here and bumping this reply from over a year ago.
Those Ehlert (Ford Y) valve covers look a lot like a set of SBC valve covers I saw for sale a couple of weeks ago.
    (Check my photo, please.)
s-l1600.jpg I bookmarked the listing and a couple of days later when I made up my mind to buy, there were gone.:( Now I'm kicking myself!
I'm building a 350 Chevy (So common and boring, right?) and I'm wanting something different. I like the cross fins and the centered breather/filler holes.
These look a bit like Pontiac 400 covers but the listing did say they were SBC.
I hope somebody can help identify or give details.

@theshiftwizard those are reproductions- the guy making those I was told cast or made a pattern from an original which were only made for y-blocks and then designed them to fit Chevy motors too-

  21. Thanks for the quick reply, Tuck.
If you know who or can find out who is making the reproductions, contact details etc., I'll stop kicking myself.

    Check out Spotlite Kustom accesories.
He sells something similar. Fins are horizontal on his, not an angle.
