Lets see some photos or art work of these great closed cab little trucks.
built this in the 70s , i'm building a copy of it..except for a few improvements
im working on this one
I love your 36 3 window, they have always been cool.......
Guy I know, shop truck.
I like this one.
I like this one too!!
And what a stocker it is............gave me wood!!
We had a thread on that some time ago, search for it.
Anyway, here´s some sugar for you:
Are you building one? Show us some pics
Here is mine been in the family for a long time been done since late 70's 283 with a glide, ridding on a set of early buick wires.
Here is my one
Here is a couple!
There you go
There is a good one on EBAY right now. I think it goes off tomorrow.
Everybody in the neighborhood likes it when we take this one out. It's mostly a stocker, last owner installed Guide headlights and '32 tailights. I added the Firestones and wires.
Thanks for the thread. Now I have more stuff to dream about.
ForEverFour, I can't stop lookin at your truck. That thing is just right...
Mine is a little different than most. The body is chopped 4 1/2 inches, cab stretched 4 inches, model t coupe quarter windows shortened and narrowed. Box shortened 8 inches. Engine is 59A flathead with t5 5 speed. F-100 front brakes, Cen-Pen bagged dropped front axle, early Bronco rear end with police drum brakes, Vw bus steering box..
Will be road ready in about a month. Hope to workout all the bugs this summer and take the body back off next winter for body work and paint.
I like how the belt line is at a bit of a rake. It's got really great proportions. Also like how the rear tire is just under the top of the bed instead of over.
I'd take a fendered phonebooth pickup any day, like the ones Dave Gale made, or Jakes.....but this one is sweet!
I bought this last year. Plans call for 16" wires new top and not much else. Waiting for the weather to break before the fun starts.
Jeem, thanks for the compliments. Proportions are always tough when you lengthen the cab. I think I did the best I could. It still needs a roof , a rolled pan in the back, visor, glass, interior and more.
I built it for comfort. These cabs are small, thats why the cab is extended and not channeled. Air bags front and rear for ride comfort and tune ability, not for laying frame. If there not comfortable you won't want to drive them.
Like I said this ones a little different but I built it for me.
Would love to see this thread renewed. Need more pics of the 28-29 closed cabs.
Another big thread, maybe the Mods will merge them? They have the capabilities to do so..........
