Hello, (from post on drag cars in motion)

This blue Fiat was at Lions and Bakersfield in 1959-60. We were able to get some pits action and elimination runs on film. It was an impressive racer with lots of races against other cars/classes. It looks like a lot of the Fiat bodied racers back then. (I was told it is not the early, Ratican-Jackson coupe.) Win some, lose some…but always a hard charging coupe. Anyone with the names of driver and builder?

IMG_1004.JPG IMG_0251.JPG I know I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to add a couple pictures of my uncle's steel, street driven Topolino. He is out of Prosser WA.

This one came to me for an engine/ brake system rebuild. Totally stock, 1937 Topolino A.
Solid, no rust, original interior, transformable top.
I am looking for an original 4cyl. Engine for this car if anyone has drivetrain parts available let me know.

Any info on this one would be appreciated. This is the direction I want to go with mine, along with a full roll cage, for some road racing. Simca 2.jpg

I blame Mark Georgette for my drag racing and hot rodding addictions.
In my early teens Mark prowled our suburb in a Corvette powered A Model Sports coupe and then later on in my teens he started building the Fiat racecar above. I used to ride my push bike down the road on weekends to watch him build it under his families toy store in Caringbah. I think that I learned how to gas weld there.
When I built my first altered race car Mark was an authorised tech inspector so he signed off on my parts ...... I also bought my first rear race wheels and tyres from his brother Parker. I'm now approaching my retirement years and I have an A Model Coupe awaiting construction.
Thanks Mark ..... can't thank you enough.

    Hello,

This photo is not the famous “Magic Muffler Blown Crank” photo. It is the version just before it was changed over to the next level of competitive builds. It is the Purple Magic Muffler Fiat Coupe. The Dark Purple Altered of the earliest Magic Muffler Fiat Coupe prior to the change over to the minimal Fiat Light Purple Coupe.

    upload_2022-12-6_3-34-38.png

The bright Purple Fiat was the first Fiat Altered in Jim Miles’ build list.

“In 1961, the combination of business art and freedom of expression coalesced into one metallic organism in the form of a particular racecar, a ‘48 Fiat Topolino bored-and-stroked 331 Chrysler Hemi, powered by copious globs of nitromethane. This was the “Magic Muffler” AA/Fuel Altered, a rolling, playful purple pipe bomb. It was like an Andy Warhol portrait of a soup can morphed into an atomic missile.”

It was/is a very descriptive paragraph about a very loud, but colorful Fiat Altered Coupe from So Cal.
