This one really works for me. Very understated, but very distinctive. tumblr_mz876h4f1M1r2z3qgo1_1280.jpg

Hell, if I had space to safely store the hood, I'd have space to buy another car.

The only reason I had the hood off was because it needed paint work. The car seemed to get more attention this way. 100_0267.jpg 100_0265.jpg 100_0266.jpg

No way Jose, IMO anything newer than a Deuce needs a hood.

At the Automobila Moon Light Madness car show in Wichita last Saturday. This is before the 6 pm start as I'd gone down there to help man a road barricade. We let people out but not in. It's a great show that's been going on for 22 years. I've been attending, with a car, 15 of those years. It's fun seeing old friends at this show. statue.jpg

  15. Even when I pull the front clip off and the engine out, the hood still stays! :)

  18. The only reason that the hood is off of the MorDor is that the previous owner took it off, and it's been nice to have it off while I was working in the engine compartment and doing the wiring. It's going back on sometime in the next week or so.

If you've ever had to adjust hood on one of those, you know to leave it on!

My hoodless extremist stance comes from the Feb 2001 Issue of Hot Rod Magazine. Where Gray Baskervill "ol Dad" went on a tangent about how "when he was a kid, you knew all the badass 40 Fords had no hoods"....Cool read weather your into hoods or not. Customs: Hood ... Hot Rods: No hood ;) (and yes... I love your hooded 40 Ford.... even though it has a hood :) )

  21. I can appreciate the "hoodless" look but, I've always felt they look better "buttoned-up". It also increases that "What's he got under the hood" mystery?;)

The last time my coupe was without a hood, back in 2002, when I swapped out the 283 for a hopped up 350.

Everyone knows that after you put the engine back in your car that the first test drive is done with the hood still off.

  28. I can appreciate the "no hood" tradition/history, but it's not for me.
It takes nice flowing body lines, and changes it to a look of being incomplete/unfinished, but then I like fenders on everything also.
To each their own, until/unless it adversely affects me.
