I agree Lazydog40, let's see how big we can make this thread as we count down to 2016!
This one has been entombed for 30+ years, owner says it will emerge in the spring, let's hope.

I wish I had a better shot of Pixie's old Sloper ( especially when it was flamed). This was early '80's
    [IMG]
It had an early 283 with 6 carbs

I believe it's now back on the road

Flames? Somebody mention flames???? God I miss my flames, first pic, but have been unable to find anyone to put them on new paint job yet (at least someone that won't let the coupe linger for months in their shop!) First pic is my avatar as I got the coupe, but the old lacquer was spalling off like crazy so it had to be stripped, glass beaded and painted. And yeah that ol' guy bragging on it is me. 013.jpg 1940fordcoupejpg-d5eb362b9a5dcae9.jpg 138415_Front_3-4_Web.jpg 5617251707_772e9eaac9.jpg ebay213662.jpg

  15. 39 Guy, yours and flammedabone's threads have made me a believer that the rusty ones can be saved and I can do it too. Built a few cars but this will be the biggest challenge. I Just bought it this Wednesday, the body is still with the PO. Got it out of the HAMB classifieds about three hours away from me. Everything is there to do it, just needs the floors/bottom 2" reconstructed, rest is real good with tons of parts to do the job.

This is me with Bill the old owner. Bill, thanks for letting it go.

couple of more photos from Gene Sonnen, who arguably could be "Mr. 40".

Could be? Heck, I always thought he was.

I'll hijack the thread with a 39 deluxe I had back around 95/96. Front spring was pretty flat! I miss this car.

I posted this three years ago from an auction not too far away. This car was auctioned, and then completely destroyed hours later. I had heard it was being put back together and wonder if anyone knows of any updates?

Be careful, pay attention when hauling and strap your cars down properly!

    Beautiful genny 40...

    A few hours later....what a shame.
