50 mph winds, temps in low 20s, snow tomorrow, so here are some more pics.

Stopped by a friends house on the way home from the NSRA appreciation day at Roger Linn's. I took a quick pic of his daughter by my car in front of their new house. I like to take pix of kids because they grow up SO fast. ev.jpg

still snowing today, good thing ground is warm, not sticking well. Maybe I can get the coupe out for a ride later this week. Here's a couple more '40s.

To really get the full impact of what this looked like in person, you gotta imagine it in colour, the b&w magazine photos aren't going to do it. This was black lacquer with red tuck & roll, chrome wheels and merc ashcans, this thing was a stunner in person...

    I really LOVE this truck.

Well, so far we have been going with the body style rather than strictly '40s only policy, there have already been a shitload of '39s posted as well. If Moriarty asks me to, I will delete it.

I love it also. Don't care if it is a 40 or 41, could be either with 41 trim.

Yup. Man, if I had a '41 (or '40:rolleyes::p) pickup, I would be proud to rip off inspiration from that one. There used to be a two-tone light met. blue/dark met. blue '41 around Maple Ridge that was kinda similar, chrome reverse wheels with merc ashcans but it had white T&R and chrome bellyburners on it. This was around 1990/91, Nice looking truck.

Well, I've been posting a bunch of pix of my bucket lately. That's only because I've had it a few years but really just got it going recently. I love driving it. This pic is from the NSRA appreciation day at Roger Linn's last Saturday. There were lots of great cars there by the way. small cecil.jpg

Hey there, olcurmdgeon, thanks for posting my red 40 standard tudor!
I just collected a bunch of front bumper upgrades, so I'll post a full frontal when I get them bolted on.

Sun is out today, above freezing, Mother Nature teasing us that Spring may be around the corner. Some more eye candy.

A few more, getting antsy to get the coupe out, but last snow fall has lots of salt on the roads yet. Maybe it will rain hard tomorrow and do some cleaning.

Remember back in the 50s when you went to car shows where the angel hair was like snowdrifts, hiding unfinished interiors and other parts? And people desecrated '40 coupes by removing the quarter windows to make a 3W model? Never liked them but ran across these pics today on the Stylish Kustom blog and it brought back memories of driving to Hartford, CT in the 50s for the Frank Maratta car shows.

And on the kustom theme, here's is an old carson topped warhorse that I hope someone has saved. No way of telling as these pics were posted some time ago.

I gotta agree that is desecration on that red '40, and I'm also willing to bet it was a show car only, as the rear and side visibility of a '40 coupe is bad enough stock, LOL!!!
After being away from hot rods built on early cars for awhile and then re-entering the early hot rod traditional scene with a no top roadster, I'm still struggling with my '40 in real world driving, even with the "swan neck" side mirrors I have. Hate to even think about trying to drive that car with the blanked out side windows and no side mirrors to be seen, in traffic.
Went thru downtown Atlanta last Sat with a return thru on Sun. and I was as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I'm sure anyone who reads this and has driven thru downtown Atlanta on the I75/85 Xway understands why.

This coupe reminds me of a car I once had in my garage......... After three months in upholstery prison I get to pick it up today!
