Some great eye candy I.Rant! Unfortunately I can only put one Like on the here instead of one for each car!

I dig the flatty in this one, but would ditch those bumpers and put a set of 40 bumpers on it if it were mine.

Love these cars, love the posts, but if I had a dollar for every black '40 with red steel wheels I've seen... I'd have enough money to have Squeeg's Kustoms build me two Jerry Moreland sedans from scratch. That sorta thing drives me crazy.
..............................Here's to driving you crazy!
"Customizing" a '40 Ford should be a felony!
Wasn't this a Hot Rod cover car a few years ago? I think I have a copy of it around here somewhere.Definitely has the old school Hot rod look.
All depends on what's done to it.
Agreed. Skill and taste don't always come in the same package. Your project was tastefully designed and skillfully built. Many customized 40's have not shared the fate of your convertible as they have strayed too far from original lines of what has to be one of Fords best designs.
one of the RARE exceptions to the above proposed law.
I will concede that your '40 is beautiful. Well done! You've preserved the classic lines.
I mainly am irked by the quad headlights, Cadillac rear fender extensions etc.
A HRM 2001 cover car. The excellent feature article, titled Rod Van Winkle, was penned by Gray Baskerville! The deluxe coupe, Rip Van Winkle, and Gray Baskerville are all classics!
Anymore pix of this car?

I have no more! I have been trying to track it down lately, with no success. StrayKatKustoms initially posted this pic. Got any info, Roy?
I too feel your pain.............
It's the February 2001 issue. I had it out on display for years. Now I seem to have put it away in a box with the others. I will scan the article if I can find the magazine.
..................Just for grins, I did change things up about 6 months or so ago.....I was a little tired of the Red wheels as well.
An all-black and chrome 40 standard is classic, or as fellow HAMBer once put it: It is the Standard!
lothiandon1940, I'm assuming that light fastened to your left front bumper irons is really more amber in real view rather than photo where it appears red. I've wondered about it many times, as to how you keep the LEO off your back? If I put something like that on a car down here in GA, they would be after me like a duck after a June bug
..............................It is in fact a rich amber color, not red at all as it may appear in pictures. I found it at a swap meet a number of years ago and really liked the color and the fluted lens that kinda mimics the flow of the grill bars.
I'm kind of fond of red wheels and black body. Yeah, there's a lot of them out there. Oh well.
Have I posted this one before?
I kind of like this shot too. This was from a couple of years ago. We've revived a Wichita tradition of "cruising Douglas". The main drag thru town. It got banned back in the 90's but nobody cares now. This picture was taken in front of Dennis McPhails "Artist's at Large" tattoo business. He provided root beer floats for all comers. Adam Brownfield's 50 Chevy coupe behind my car.
I really like the orange wheels on this 40.
