The Latimore Valley Fair is June 25-27 and free to the public. The Eastern Museum of Motor Racing and Latimore Valley Fairgrounds host an authentic country fair. The Latimore Valley Fair recalls the great agricultural expositions of an earlier time with a midway, craft vendors, antique tractor and engine displays, great food, evening entertainment and vintage race car exhibitions on the track Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There will also be a race car and antique car swapmeet. The cost to vend in the swapmeet is $30.00 for the weekend for a 10x30 area. Here is a link to the museum website www.emmr.org
If you're in the Central Penna. area that weekend, this is a throwback to a simpler/greater time, now long gone. And, don't forget the Fairgrounds, and the Museum are the recipient of a lot of the profitability from the Jalopy Showdown! Bathrooms soon!!! Scary Larry and Junior, both now on the Board of Directors, at the facility. Come on out and support this event.
I may take that or the 34 but I won't be running yet they both have brake and gas tank issues from sitting. I should have them both ready for the track by the convention.
Hey jr. Looks like my plans might prevent me from going to the road rocket show in indy that weekend. Rhink I could get a couple laps with the henry J Hahaha
Hey all. Is the camping the same deal as the Showdown. Is it a bigger or smaller size crowd. Thanks. Slim
The camping deal is NOT the same. The grove is FILLED with tractors and tractor camper people! I'm not sure of the situation, Jr may know or at least who to contact. I'm sure there is some place for you but it is not my deal.
Ed I'm sorry but this is for real race cars, old ones but real race cars. I'll find out the camping situation tomorrow and get back with you guys. The Rocket and shuttle bus will be running back and forth from the fairgrounds to the museum so be sure to check it all out. Here are some museum pics.
I thought I won't get far with that one but I will try to make it if I don't go to indy it does sound like fun
Thanks, Larry and Fatabone. May just drive out for the day. Here are some shots of the museum for folks who have not been there. http://backstreetwheels.blogspot.com/2009/10/eastern-museum-of-motor-racing-york.html
Lynn Paxton will be on The Wally Bell Show Wed. evening , no doubt, we'll talk about the Event in York Springs ! www.dragracersreunion.ningcom click on radio
I checked on the camping and it is OK if you get a swap meet space which is $30 for the weekend. There is no free camping they are just too full with vendors, vintage race cars and antique tractors. The cruise in is from 4-10pm on Saturday and is also free and usually brings in a good number of cars.
Lynn Paxton was on our show last night... This is an awesome event..... A great way to spend a weekend......
Jr called and said there is plenty of space for vendors if you have some stuff to move along. Tomorrow vintage race cars will run 1-3. Cruise in 4-10 with free band. See you there.
larry what's the cruise about ? park & look at cars or little drive thru the country side with a detour to the track!! hope to make it up will the new king of stocks have a car runnin'? i heard the kettle corn is good !!
Redz...the cruise in is from 4-10 and parking is on the pit side of the infield. Park, play, eat and listen to the bands and also the museum will be open late. If you get there early track time is from 1-3 and stop by and buy my junk. The stock cars aren't quite ready for track time but I do plan on having them at the convention in August.
