Didn't even know he was sick...another legend has passed. Got to meet Winfield at a show here in Tacoma a few years ago, and the picture I have with him is one of my favorites. RIP Larry...

Shows you how important home movies, stills, videos etc. are. With out them we can only talk about someone, with them we can actually see and relive them.

  27. He would have been 72. I looked at all his pictures on my walls, went to Rik Hoving's site, read thru Kustomland and got my in progress Grapevine model out.....but it just doesn't feel the same.

  29. Thanks Evel for sharing. It gives many of us who didn't know him personally a little grasp of how cool this guy was and how influential he still is. He will surely be missed.

I took this picture of Larry Watson in Oct of last year at Winfield's. At the time I thought it was ironic that he was signing a gray primered rusty rat rod homebuilt when his legend was all about color. Shows what a nice guy he was - comfortable with his image and not about to get hung up on the wrong things.

Great video at the opening of this post. Seems like he led a cool, creative life and career of innovation. He was at the forefront of custom painting all the way down to airbrushing sparkling color into girl's hair at car shows.

What did the last line of the video mean? I may have heard wrong but I thought he said "...my first customer called my bluff - hit the Bellflower clock and I was history."
