Snagged this picture of the HAMB years ago, always thought the shackles were a neat idea to keep everything from binding and eventually failing when driving 'em on the street.

Has anyone ever run the traction bars towards the rear of the car instead of the front? I have seen it a couple times where there was no room to go forward? Any Pic's

  17. I saw that in an article about an early 60's superstocker - the bar was designed to make the back of the car squat to transfer the load to the rear tires. Not sure how effective that was.

I bought a set of these for my truck build, I'll post some pics when I get them installed. I'd like to hear some more opinions on these. They seem to be very well made and plenty stout.

Great photo...........this car belonged to a friend of mine. He raced it at Islip Speedway, which I see in the background. I just found out he passed about 2 years back. He and his partner Vinnie were tied into the Brooklyn Heavy association way back. I worked at Islip during these days. Thanks for the memories.......

i whipped these up two years ago. maybe a little over kill but oh well. i made a swing shackle for the front to eliminate binding. i even made the bat wing brackets. it works great.

i saw some kat selling a set of ladder bars on ebay once. they were total shit. they were boogered together out of 3/4 inch square tubing, and had a three inch exhaust pipe clamp on the back to connect to the axle tube.
