I'd make it a ramp truck for hauling cars. Check out the COE Picture Thread on here for ideas, even though it's not a COE.

I think it's cool just how it sits.

I think it is cool as is. Just drive it

  6. Beaver-tail the flat-bed, get some long easily stored ramps, weld on some tie-down loops, put your 'cool' shop name on the door and use it like a truck.
Somewhere in there, make yourself some oak stake-bed sides.

Contrary to what some think, not everything can be a hot rod, but it can be cool....

  12. Somewhere in your neighborhood is an old school sign painter that could letter up the doors to match that "not too bad paint". A 454 and a turbo 400 and you would have a really nice hard working shop truck any one would be proud to own. You might want to consider A/C though......

I find it interesting that someone would have to even ask such a question. I figure a person that doesn't think that is cool has found the wrong site to hang out at.

that looks like a very cool picture with all the green and the sun coming through... if you can post up a bigger one I'd like that for my collection..

If you know what your doing you can lay flat on the ground and still pull/carry anything you want....trust me I know. I've built several 1 ton duallys that still pull. One was used to pull a 25,000# bulldozer.

I think it's very cool as a hauler, not so much as a driver. These things are a chore to drive.

I would fix it up as is, bone stock, nice stake bed, and use it to haul all the stuff that is too big to fit in my pickup.

not cool to me. Cant cruise in it. Cant drive it fast. Its just an old truck. Just because its old doesnt mean its cool. Just my opinion.

I always love hearing the points of view about what a guy should/might do. BUT, THIS is the first time I agree with EVERYBODY!!! Holy crap.

You can get it in the shape you want it, drive it a while, start making changes as you see fit. (MYSELF, I'm with TexasHardCore & RichFox: Lower it a tad & make a ramper out of it. What a HIT THAT would be at shows. Just another 2 cents, buddy!)

Oops, DannyGo posted while I was typing. I disagree with him. It's COOL as IS AND has tons of potential. How many times do you see an old truck like this with great sheet metal, etc. Sorry, Danny, you're a fellow Buckeye, but I juts disagree.

And besides, you CAN cruise in it, even AS IS, IF you have a COOL car on the back, anyway! LOL

I had a '55 chevy 3/4 ton with a flatbed, later six cylinder and granny 4 speed, man I used that truck a lot. Hauled a lot of stuff with it, really wish I'd kept it.
