i looked for you yesterday found your car but no sign of life
Here you go Boys and Girls. The planets have aligned and my camera decided to work.....and it even in color!
Thanks very much to Shrappy for letting me use his stands. I had to modify them slightly by adding a building block on the base and filing them with the pebbles I have around the 'Dry lake bed', then covered with a lovely new sack! But I must say the colors are really working! It all looks very old skool! Even the mirror I placed under the car and hid the crappy edges with more pebbles!
We had judging today with 5 different groups of judges coming through at different times. If they couldn't see things they couldn't mark them, hence I had everything that could open. They finally finished at about 4pm so i could put they hood back on and come home. I don't really want the hood off for tomorrow when the public come through, as the lines of the car look much better with the hood on.
We got kicked out today while the press went through and tok lots of pictures and film of all the cars. Unfortunately I had the hood off for judging while they were there.....never mind! Fussy bloody show rodder eh?
That's a hard one;they fit in with the Black/grey contrast. I wonder if they would be invisible if they were grey?
Just as an experiment; if Wade doesn't mind, that is.
Or matching the hub caps and quick change maybe?
...and in full color. Here's the builder and photo-journalist behind the build...more here..http://www.nz-hotrod.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?7318-CRC-Speedshow-2012/page5
Pretty Nifty car. Gary
I've been following this and it has turned out just beautiful! Great work on every detail, what patience.
Now get out and drive the wheels off!
Congrats on the BEST Unfinished.
Absolutely my choice as well.
Some stiff competition too.
I have some pretty serious catching up to do around home first!
Cheers Clive. 7 cars in my catagory and some very nice work on them all.
Here is the trophy and cert on Saturday night.
Wow, awesome build. Thanks for all the content!
SO??? Where is the surprise in that?? Anything that topped your effort would need to be pretty bloody spectacular!
Very nice build it's been a great one to read a long with . Now go get some chips in that paint! Roger
Nice work Wade.
Cheers man! I have enjoyed putting together all the pictures and posting them here. It has been an easy way of sharing my sickness with my workmates as well as you lot!
There was some very nice cars in my class but a very diverse range, I did not envy the job of the judges at all.
I hope to as soon as time, money and my home work load dictates.
Thanks guys, I will keep you all up to date as much as possible.
What do ya know , , , The proud father with his new-born baby .
Well done Wade , Top effort with both the build and the ongoing updates on the thread. Top result with the show . You have every right to wear that grin.

Congrats on the win.
Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.
Cheers Shrappy! I did have trouble getting the grin off my dial for some days after.
Those stands were perfect, but a little light, so I put a hollow buiding block over the base and filled them with lime chip, then dropped them into a sack!
Thanks for that. I went over and checked it out too.
Great stuff, finished product looks beyond awesome.
Top effort and congrats on the win - really well deserved. Now run some brake lines n go and drive it till the wheels fall off !
I have been surfin around the net tonight and keep triping over more and more shots of the car.
Some of the lighting is much better than I have achieved in my photos......so I have borrowed them.
Got my first ink today (Well almost) in Hot Rod Revue, an online magazine. Check it out here.
