  2. Bob McCoys famous 40 ford tudor also had them. His were at the front edge of the board though. His also had the regular pipes exit just ahead of the rear tires.

I’d forgotten about this thread. Since I’m here, here’s how my kickstand lake pipes turned out.

What? 10 years and no ripple pipes?

  5. I had some on my OT '68 way back in the previous century. Hooker headers straight back to Cherry Bombs and a swaged 45 ending about even with the outer corner of the Mickey Thompsons.
Like the Johnny Cash song, "I built it one clamp at a time". (No welds.) :p

  6. Any more pics of kickstands?? Thinking of a set fir my 39.

For the last several years I have been working during the show. If you see my car at the show, it's generally parked at the Wizards Products booth. You'll find me there!

I think it would behoove a guy to figure out how to ripple tubing. Of course, then everyone would have it and there goes the mystique.

  22. I have an idea on how to try and ripple the pipe at home. I’ll give it a try and document it. If it works I’ll make a tech thread on it.

I also had an idea,,,,,did not go well.
The first ripple went well.Warmed up an inch above the first, but when i
pressed, the first ripple collapsed.Hope your idea is better Skärmavbild 2020-11-20 kl. 13.58.43.png Skärmavbild 2020-11-20 kl. 13.57.50.png Skärmavbild 2020-11-20 kl. 13.58.18.png

  27. my idea is to fill the pipe section with sand, measure the spacing of the ripples and using a clamping device to press the ripples into the pipe.

  28. I think you are on to something. My thought is instead of pressing you ROLL them in. The sand should act as a soft mandrel.
