I like it a lot. Very tastefully done, and it looks a lot nicer than I thought a 24 ever could look when rodded. Two thumbs up.
Thanks for the words. It is amazing to me that this car is approaching 100 years old. The flatty itself is almost 75 years old. This of course before the top went on. Seats are leather with Naug. inserts. No glove box so had to make one This wheel was in a car about to be crushed when I rescued it. All the wood in the interior is real burl. The exhaust is from Speedway kit pieces and hours of cut, fit, cut, fit weld etc. Ceramacoated. The Color?? It is secret. lol Body and fender ridging is PPG Black Cherry Pearl. The fenders, splash panel and running gear is PPG Black Cherry (Sans Pearl) These pics don't do the color justice. Hit the sunlight and the magic happens. Fourdy
Please do not change that air cleaner. It totally makes that car and puts it in the era it fits. Super 70s resto-rod! It reminds me of the Buttera T. I can't get over how perfect this thing is.
My time machine must be broken, the late eighties - early nineties air cleaner somehow equates a mid seventies build?
Sorry I can't help you guys with the time machine. LOL I don't know how to classify my builds but have been told by several people in my area and body shops that I build restro-rods. I just build what I see in my mind. Some times I just get lucky. Fourdy
You have built a glorious resto rod, one of the nicest I've seen in a long time! And, having grown up in the '70s that is one of my favorite types of hot rods. That air cleaner is the only thing that isn't quite there, but what's that, 2 minutes to change when you find the right one? No big deal! That color is almost screaming "I need Tru-Spokes", by the way. Thank you sir for building this car unchopped and full fendered.
Need louvers ? I agree with the Tru-spokes idea but did you know that they are not made anymore? I have a set on my 40. If I find them at a swap meet they are extremely rusty or flaking. My tru-spokes Fourdy
Love the color. Unusual in a good sense as brown is not used often on any car. It will stand out. Plus, the brown/tan tweed and leather make it all come together. Engine looks sweet. Super nice T. Enjoy your labors!
Actually, They are being redone these days! A company over in California bought the rights to Tru-Spoke and is making them again. I haven't seen them yet so I'm not sure of quality levels and such, but they are available again. If you are seriously considering some, I can sure keep my eyes open down here for you. I have bought three sets this year so far and the best part is if they have spent their life here they don't rust or flake. I always seem to have guys asking if I'd like some. I know exactly where that house is up on the hill above town. Yours?
Love the car (except for the Air cleaner lol) . Always loved tall T's.. I can't believe I'm saying this but love the 1970's resto rod look...hated resto rods back in the day but time makes things grow fonder and pro touring rods is now my #1 hate car. SRS the car looks great..
