Not too often we have any days in January when its both sunny AND at least 60 degrees! So I actually took a day off work to make the most of it. Went to a couple junkyards, both in southern Indiana, and neither of which I had ever been to. These pictures are from a yard near Corydon. I think I was at least 25 years too late, as there were some very desirable cars in here, just nothing left on them! I did manage to find a few things though to make it worth while, hope to get back again soon.
The 60 Starliner is the 2nd one I've ever seen in an actual junkyard. It was also probably one of the "nicest" cars in there as well. Looks can be deceiving though.
Good for you, and thanks for the pics....this winter here in the mid west has been unreal so far.....I have been driving my '63 Biscayne every day for several weeks. Just stopped two days ago when this darn snow hit....and we only got ~7" and -1* temps...... Cheers, Bob
What the heck!? I can't believe how many two door cars are in there! If nothing else, there seems to be alot of good, hard to find glass.
Maybe most of the cars are too far gone , I see a lot of cool parts in this junkyard. fatfender49 get off your butt and pickup that COE. CRUISER
is it near scottsburg? in that case i was there 2003 and have a fast walk tru you could not see all becurse the hills and trees. what i could remember 2 intact 55-56 cadillac 2 door untuched sitting down to ground ken sweden
Looks like a good place for pics and hard to find chrome and trim pieces! Even in that shape I would go for that starliner. Salt and not moving are killers in the north east! That 1959 wagon was a tear jerker too.
There is another one near Scottsburg that I've planned on going to now for a couple months. I heard they've crushed quite a bit though, as this yard did too.
