Hey gotgas...if you’ve ever been out on that road coming home from a tough week at Bonneville as soon as you rolled the car off the trailer you hoped some one got the cooler of beer off the truck.
There’s not much on that road including cell service now.

1959 - Ermie Immerso showed up mid-week at Bonneville with his #333 "KRAFT AUTO Special" Streamliner (the reconfigured #333 "Herbert~Hermann~Walker" 'liner ... with the cockpit relocated back to the center of the vehicle ... and two supercharged Chrysler HEMIs):

1961 - Ermie Immerso's "DEAN VAN LINES" Streamliner (the reconfigured #333 "KRAFT AUTO Special" 'liner ... powered by a single supercharged Ford V8 mounted behind the driver) at Bonneville ... it qualified at 223.32 MPH ... but failed to set a new class record:

1991 - Bruce Johnston's #666 Streamliner (the reconfigured Worobieff #777 'liner) at the 43rd Annual Bonneville National Speed Trials:

    1991 - Bruce Johnston #666 Streamliner.jpg

~1995 - Mark Dees purchased the yellow #666 Streamliner from Johnston.

~1997 - After Mark’s death in December of ’96, Gerry Silberstein purchased the yellow #666 Streamliner from the Dees estate.

~2001 - Mark Spacek purchased the yellow #666 Streamliner from Silberstein.

~2010 - David Duthu (of Houston, Texas) purchased the yellow #666 Streamliner from Spacek ... Duthu sent the ‘liner to Dave Crouse’s “Custom Auto” shop in Loveland, Colorado (where Herbert’s BEAST III ‘liner was restored for Dr. Mark Brinker) to be restored to its 1953 configuration … but because the car had undergone so many transformations since 1953, it was determined that it wasn’t feasible to “restore” its chassis & body but rather it needed to be completely rebuilt.

2012 - The 'liner was displayed at the "Houston Classy Chassis Concours":

~2015 – Duthu sent the ‘liner to Dan Webb in Davison, Michigan to be “re-created” using as many of the car’s original components as possible. Webb and several others ... including daughter Ashley (@ash) & son-in-law Cory (@CTaulbert) Taulbert, Tracy Aitken, Wes Mishler, Craig Naff, Mike Curtis, Rod (@Hot Rod Tucker) Ida, Darryl (@hollenbeck32) Hollenbeck, and Eric Reyes ... brought (re-created) the 'liner back to its circa 1953 - #666 "BEAST 4" configuration.

2016 – Duthu donated the #666 "BEAST 4" ‘liner to the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum where it remains on display for all to appreciate:

  6. No ... Thank YOU for sharing the "Lindsley Family Photo Collection" with the H.A.M.B. community.

I've really enjoyed reading both threads ... and every time I was about to chime in with some info or the identification of a car, I saw that @Jimmy B, @lurker mick or @296ardun had already "beat me to it" :D ... so when you inquired about the history of the "BEAST 5", I just had to chime in :)

  10. Not on the H.A.M.B. ... but @ash (Ashley Webb Taulbert) / @CTaulbert (Cory Taulbert) did post hundreds of "build photos"on the Webb Automotive Art FB page:
... and there's some good info about the restoration/re-creation in this HOP UP Blog: Chet Herbert’s Beast IV
