Hey guys. Just wanted to share my coverage of this years Jalopyrama. Didn't take as many shots as I would have like, but I had my car there for the first time so I was finally able to share it with everyone. Had a great time and got to meet a lot of new faces. We took home Best Hot Rod and Top 10 awards which was absolutely mind blowing knowing how nice the rest of the cars at the show were. I was honored and appreciative that they recognized our work in the sea of pro-built cars. Her are some of my favorite shots of the event. My idea behind some of the black and white photos was to replicate that style of photo you'd see in the little pages from the early days. Amateur cropping, fill flash, blown out highs and underexposed lows. I used a compact point-and-shoot 35mm Yashica camera for this look. I didn't get as many keepers from that experimental roll as I'd hope, but I'm happy with the ones I did get. The rest of the color shots, and 1 roll of the black and white NON flash was shot on the Leica M6TTL. You can view the rest of them at my site - www.johnhelmuth.com. If anyone is interested in purchasing a print just let me know!
Really cool John! It was great seeing you again. Not to hijack your thread, but I thought you might like to see this image of you shooting that I included on my thread.
I’m happy tons of issues loading photos right now. I’ll keep trying. You’re probably not seeing them all. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Thanks for posting your pics, really nice. Glad to see you made it to the show, love that coupe, congrats
Love the B&W shots. Makes me feel like it's 1962 all over again. I'm nuts for your Coupe as well. Great job..................................................Don.
That’s great! The car looked incredible in person. It’s amazing how much work was done to the body that the average person wouldn’t even see. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Thanx for this wonderful event coverage. A super group of trad customs that hit my 50's 60's involvement in our sport. The B/W shots are really a super wave of nostalgia. Great lens management, you are appreciated.
