Just got back from Asbury Park, NJ, and the first JJ & J car show/party. About 30 cars and a dozen bikes showed up. Lots of people, about 8 bands, inside the bar. Beer and burgers outside. Nice day, met lots of koool people. Edmurder, and Tokyo, and Jeff were there, as well as ChopMerc. Looked around for Kustom7777, but never saw him! He's got a new girlfriend.........
Anyway, it was a nice time. The guy who spearheaded the show, Brian (?)_ has a shop that builds 'rat rods' close to my own shop...gona have to visit him! Saw some other guys and their cars, that go to Jersey shows. Harry put on a nice show with his flame throwing Plymouth! Wowed the crowds! Another guy went down the street, and did an AMAZING wheelie ON HIS HARLEY! I'm telling you...it was a block long wheelie, that would due justice to a Jap bike!
He then came back around and did a smoking burnout. Nice show!
Lots of nice looking (and some strange looking) girls, My friend Anthony White doing some pinstriping, along with another striper...the One Armed Bandit. Really, this guy pinstripes, and has only one arm! Pretty cool.
And the best story for last. VICCUSTOM and I are hanging around our cars (chopped 55 Olds, and chopped shoebox Ford) and an older guy comes around (older than the rest of the crowd, not me!) He's checking our cars out pretty good. He's wearing a Barris shirt, so I tell Vic, "Look it's George Barris!" Vic gets in on the joke, and asks the guy if he's George. The guy says, "No, he's a LOT older than I am, but I'm making a movie about his life!"
Real friendly fellow...comes up to us and introduces himself.......he's Butch Patrick! Eddie Munster! He's a producer in Hollywood, now. He says he was thinking, and telling his female companion, that these are the kinds of cars that Barris builds. Big coincidence, I tell him, and then dig into the trunk to show him the "Barris Pick" plaque I got from him at Gettysburg. So we talked for a while...and it turns out he was just in town to talk with the mayor of Asbury Park, about putting up a Haunted House exhibition in the Convention Center. Which was right across the street from the show. So he wandered over to look at the cars, since he's involved with the making of the Barris flick! Vic and I had our picture taken with him, in front of my car. What a nice guy! Forgot to tell him that we were also doing a tribute to Barris, ouselves, building the Kopper Kart....wish I would have thought of it, but we were kinda in shock over seeing him there, and meeting him!
    Strange how things happen......

Hey, I forgot to mention that!
Congradulations! Another HAMB car in a magazine, and a good excuse to buy porn!
It isn't true what they said you had to do to get those pictures taken, is it? Something about a photograper, a hand on a knee, being gone a long time??????

You didn't hear it from me! Harry said it! Hahaha
