I am looking for all the advertised specs from a 60's to 70 's isky catalog . it's my 56 ford gasser with a 430 mel engine in it . The cam id is a roller rr-7000- t , I am trying to figure out maximum rpm to run this motor
If someone doesn't come up with the numbers, you could call Isky. I bet they know. Or find a local cam gringer or some shop with a Cam Doctor that will plot the cam for you.
I have found out that is a grind number that was used in several motors.... Chevy Ford and Mopar. But have not dug up any specs on it. Still searching !!
A sharp guy could plot his cam with a degree wheel and a dial indicator. You can still call Isky. It's kind of like when I got a 505C for my Packard V8. In typical Isky fashion, a 505 is a 505. No matter what engine it's ground for. .505 lift. If it has no letter its 300 degree duration. "B" model 310. My "C" was 320 degrees. Same master used for a Packard, Olds, Lincoln. Didn't matter
4 of my old Isky catologs that reference the cam all say the same thing "Timing supplied with camshaft" No specs given. It apparently was a common denominator grind as it was referenced to be used in a coupla different engine series by different manufactors. May have to calculate it in the engine if a call Isky dosent get you anywhere. I would guess that the 7000 would be an RPM number BUT thats a heavy chunk of old iron to be spinning around. Oldmics
