So i got this flathead for pretty cheap, Its an 8BA, 'said it ran when they pulled the motor out, but thats what they all say. Anyway. Its cracked in the pics below from what i can see. Is it a death sentence? The main concern is the exhaust port crack. Can it be welded, or is heat expansion just goon split it again? IMG_1134.jpg

Yeah, with a mirror and fkashlight, you can see the crack wraps underneath as well.

Nobody sane would touch that. Not everyone is sane, though...it IS unusual for an exhaust passage to fail in a visible spot. Move the actual port exit forward a touch with a grinder...hmmm...sleeve dipped in water glass and hammered up?? Run exit out of front of block?? Remember, hotrodding is a CREATIVE sport, not a CLINICALLY SANE sport. You'd be looking for a Toyota crate engine if you were sane.

Where in AZ are you? If it's available, I wouldn't mind it for yard art.

It could still be useful for a race motor, block filled with aluminum. It's only the block that is damaged, and as I said possibly still useful to someone.
