Is Boyd trying to sabatoge his own show?

If this is already being discussed on here lemme know and i'll delete this thread,but is Boyd trying to shortdick his own show?i know alot have already left to work for other car shops.Also i know alot of the shit on theres staged but it seems like the show is falling on its sword.Oh well,que sera sera

 

Tonight's episode reached a new low. The get the job on Monday and have eight weeks. And just like that a chassis is ready and a custom Marcel De Lay body shows up. It is all rigged and staged. I only watch for those couple of minutes where some fabrication or painting gets done. The rest is a wasteland.

 

Good people are pushed aside for arrogant ego's and hype. The same for the American diet: Circus Side Show dominate's the daily barrage of Mass Media. Look at the Auto magazine's..........it's why we hang here, I like being on the OUTSIDE looking IN.

 

We allready know the most level headed and mature person in the shop, the painter is gone. After watching tonights show I realy see why. On the other hand, I almost feel sorry for Boyd. I have run shops where the attitude is spiraling down the crapper and its almost impossible to stop it without an implosion. With the limited info, I thing Dwayne is the biggest problem next to the absurd deadlines. If you are going to work someone to death you have to be nice to them at least. It almost seems as if Boyd is scared he is going to loose it all again and will not say NO to customers and set realistic goals. Just my .02

Why can't they just (re)build old cars, hotrods, and customs like they rebuild old houses on "This Old House"?
Without all the stupid, fake ""reality" drama"?

And put it on regular aired TV too,,, I don't and wont pay for cable. Why should I when I get about three dozen stations free over the antenna on the roof.?

If that was a real life shop the cars would have owners that would show up to see where their money was going. I don't think the owners are "car people" just high end corporate people that need a company writeoff or "rolling art" to hang in the garage.

I think that Boyd has been burning through good help for years.Just look at the list of guys that are legends in the trade.Most of those guys got their start with Boyd.It could be a good thing fot the business.Boyd's shop is like a training ground for advanced Hot Rod builders.Who go off to make it big.I guess Dewane will never go off on his own.He'll never make it big and become a legend.Is that why he's so pissed all the time.

 

I was over there looking at the Watson car on Thursday and Boyds is alive and well. the camera crew was there, the shop was full of customers cars and there were 30 people milling around waiting to talk to anyone of the guys on the show all buying at least $80 in merch.

sabatoge my ass... he's a smart motherfucker and an american success story like him or not.

...and remember IT'S TV there is a huge difference in what is filmed and what is edited (twisted around to suit the producers) down into the program.

Its all about money its obvious thats his main interest, the show does his business no favours what so ever!
It could have been good but i guess drama sells on TV at the cost of some good guys & some major assholes.

 

Captainimij How about an intro? There are some rules.

 

FoMoFo, Is there the "TV Crew" and another "Actual Working Staff"? There are way too many dead hanger queens in that shop, unless Boyd is making the real bucks on storage.

 

I think charlie might be working with Chip Foose.

 

I just missed the best part last night, when they tied a can to bluebears ass. I think they lost 4 emplyees last night. It showed that Charlie was getting burned out. Whose next? Mike? He could work anywhere.
And I agree it is all edited for drama, but you think that dickhead Duane would watch the show once in a while and see how he comes off, Same with big Paul. Maybe they get paid extra to be the asshole of the show.
I think the show hit a new low last night for total lack of automotive content.

 

They really look like the "Keystone Kops".I guess his core customers know the score,but it can't be helping his rep. After another bust ass job to get "Junkyard Dog" to SEMA, its been in the background a lot lately. Looked like the '05 Goodguys car sitting there last night. Probably will have a panic build on it soon.

 

No ,I think they figured out how to get people to tune in.Old cars laiden with 30 inch billet wheels didnt work,so now its like watching the realworld in an autoshop.There's some form of pointless drama going on at all time.

 

I keep telling myself I'm not gonna watch the show but ,I don't listen to me and watch it anyway.

Drama,,,,hum,,,,,lets fire Boyd,,,Boyds ex,Diane,,,Boyds so called trophy bitch,,,Duane,,and put ROY in charge,,,

I watch the crap in hopes of seeing a car being built,,,,

BTW,,,I also watched an old Andy Griffith show last night where Otis bought his first car,,,34 Ford roadster,,,I got to see more car on that old TV show HRP

 

For every Hot Rod COMMUNIST, there are at least that many Hot Rod REALISTS who realize that if they had the chance they would take advantage of the capitalist system just as Boyd has. I would Build fiberglass-billet cars exclusivley if I meant i would earn more money to build trad cars for myself and give the best life possible to my family.You guys gotta stop Hatin'
