I'm hooked. I've read this thread start to finish. My only wish was that you left it in plain aluminum, or polished aluminum so that people know it's a hand made work of art. Great job guys, and thanks for the updates.

    Hemi...
Where did you take that photo of the red #8 J2X? Do you have any other photos of the car that you could send me?

    Thanks,

  7. Allard Register - I didn't take that any of those photos ... they were all culled from the Internet ... just click HERE.

  8. Although I agree with your sentiment, I'm glad Steve didn't. It keeps mine unique (I think!)

It's the same grille. The red car has fibeglass covering up the center. Have no fear...you can check out our website. We've seen many of them. Best...Geoff

Just received the July issue of the UK magazine "Octane" which has a feature on the Allard dragster:

This was the UK's first dragster. Not only was the Allard a hot rod, but Sydney Allard was definitely a hot rodder. More details of the restoration of the dragster are available here:

I could be counting wrong, but I count a different number of grille bars in the mystery grille than the one in that picture.

  20. Very nice...it is going to be put on the track or on the show circuit?

Waiting for the flatbed truck after the LARS I was in the NHRA Museum parking lot which was empty , as I was doing a few warm up laps :) I noticed the gates were open & could not resist the Kodak Moment.
