Iron powerglide parts

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Zeke Fishburn, Sep 27, 2006.

  1. I need a screen for my cast iron powerglide.

Kanter doesn't know what I am talking about. Slauson sent me to Fastco.

My transmission guy said Fastco doesn't have one.

Does anyone know where I get parts for this old tranny?

a screen would probably be available used, not new. might help to know what year you're working on.....and find places that sell used parts for that year chevy.

I probably have a few of them. Is yours missing? We usually just wash them out or use carb clean on them. What year you got? DAVE

I pulled a PG out of my '55 Chevy about three years ago. It's sitting at my Dad's house right now. If you ever make it to Panama City, Florida, you can have it!

  6. Got the screen from www.charlietranny.com

    Pleasant exeprience so far.

Hope this cures it. May still need another 'glide if this doesn't. It is a 1956 210 2 door post with the orginal 235 six.

At one time I used National Transmission @ Griggs and OST one the southeast side. Not sure if they still work on the old trannys or not.

Call Ron at Trans-matic he'll probably have what you are looking for.
Trans-matic is in Glendale CA, Los Angeles area. He will ship parts out.
