I've been on a while and last time i posted some guys were hankerin for an intro. Well 59buickwagon took a pic of my car at the NSRA nats regerstration and I found another at the hunert car pileup page so I think im ready. Met some HAMB members at the Nats Saturday they were having a meeting, A nice lady offered up cookies. At the 29 below aera I met some other kool kats. Any way the Primer blue 48 chevy is mine, it was red last year with a lot of popping body filler. Over the past spring i tried my hand at body and paint work, it turned out better than i expected mostly due to the help i had from friends with more experence. Im cheep so i like to do everything myself and the results show but i know next time it will turn out better. I was brought up in streetrods, my father has been to all 35 streetrod nationals and i rode shotgun untill 2000 when i had a runnin car to take. I perfer triditional rods and kustoms but dont grease my hair or kuff my jeans. The club im in has our show this weekend the NorthShore Rods Frebbie run at peterson park in McHenry IL. It's free and open to all types of cars. Next weekend is the goodguys show at waukesha and saturday the Cheaters show at the Night Owl. I havent typed this much since High School and i've said enough, Keep rollin, rob
If you live in NE IL then you need to show up at one of the Wednesday night "gay rodz" meetings at Marty & Son in Sycamore or at Hopperstad's in Belvedere. Check here for dates. I was in the young guy area on Saturday too. I had the goofy looking blue 34 chevy pickup and I won the steering column.
Hey, more IL people. Awesome. Welcome! As a side note, I was reading the new Gazette, and there were lots of trad cars I had never seen before from around chicagoland. Where have they all been hiding? I guess it's easy to not venture out to different cruise nights. There is a black 40 Ford coupe with flames that I saw on 65, and then I saw it in the Gazette. Nice freakin car from one of the suburbs. When the '36 is on the road, I already told my g/f that we are hitting every cruise I can find every night for 2 or 3 weeks.
Hey Chad, Since they were in the Gazette, I bet you could have skipped that wedding and saw them at Indy!
Yeah, but it was my sister's wedding. No luck getting out of it. And I'll have you know I am wedding free for the remainder of 2004!
