Internet Dongles???

Hi all,
I'm flying into LA next week for the CHRR and I'm bringing my WIFI laptop with me and I'd like internet reception along the way.
I know that I can get it at MacD's and Starbucks etc but is there any reasonably priced dongles available there that will offer good reliable reception in populated areas etc. I'll only be there for one week so capacity isn't a high priority but it needs to be easily purchased in a store somewhere.
