intake info? dual quads or keep it simple?

  1. Maybe someone will trade the 2 by 4 for a 3 by 2, and just run the center carb. Cant get more painfree than a single two barrel. Traditional cool looks of the three dueces and the pain and trouble free of a single two throat.

  2. You're askin' the wrong guy about that.

2 4s isn't that big a deal once you get it dialed in. Set it up progressive.

From David Vizards book on the subject, [actual dyno testing on 350 chevy engine] a single rochester quadrajet produced more or equal usable power of all the intakes he tested, including Dual 4 to 3 carb setups. So thats what I would use. they were used on big blocks to V6,s, so they cover a whole bunch of cubic inch sizes.

  5. All I have ever used were vac gauges. I've never had a real problem. I think its all a matter of what you grew up with.

I had the same Corvette intake with WCFB's on a '70 300 HP 350 in the early '90. It ran great with no tuning issues. I'm putting dual 500 cfm Edelbrocks on a .030 over '63 409 right now for my sedan. I hope they work as well as the 'vette set up did.
