OK so I finally got it installed. The dizzy is giving me clearance issue. What dizzy do I need or can I use a different cap.

Well....now you know "why is it so hard to find info on these carbs" (didn't you do a thread on this oddball tri-power?)

Now you know why nobody else ran these carbs x3;)

Someone here might know if there is a smaller dist unit, like a Mallory, etc

55-57 Chevy was slightly smaller OD. The old Mallory's were too.

The mallory model YL is a lot smaller and works great with the limited space .
I have some of these that run $250 rebuilt ready to run with all new parts etc...

  7. Looks like you need a smaller earlier styled distributor. HRP

Not sure how much interference you have based on the pix provided. But can you install a Pertronix electronic ignition module (get rid of the points) and trim away the adjustment window?

  9. If it's the window on the cap, why don't you just reclock the distributor?

Non points dis. It is a stinger I system. I was thinking about trimming it. Can I get a cap without the window.

Dump the yellow wires, blue cap, valve covers, alternator, fan, split plastic loom, and lokar throttle cable and you're good to go.

The vacuum advance or the points window dosen't care where it sits, rotate it to the other side if necessary just pay attention to the firing order and top dead center.

The early distributor or the Mallory clear with ease. Else index the cap around to where the window is out of the picture.
    Chopped51, (post #2) I'd bet You have! :p

    What's a dizzy and what's a tried power?
When I used a tri-power setup and offenhouser intake I used an older style dual point distributer and everything worked as it should. Forgot what carbs they were.

  19. ?
No, it won't be out of time if you move all the plug wires on the cap over and reclock it.
