I left a couple of years ago. At the time the board was not in sync with my hot rodding interests. I came back because my 32 Ford roadster (picture) is 90% and I am starting another project, a 27 T roadster with an Olds 215 all aluminum motor. I like old school and really have a fondness for 27 Tees on 32 rails. I'm a big dude, 6'2" tall and about 230# these days. Simply can not fit in a genuine version. So I am going to have to use a stretched glass (be nice) version. Anyone here seen the Stinger Hot Rod Shop body out of Indy? I will be using an open drive line banjo rear end, split wish bones, buggy springs and Schroder steering. Not as hard core as most of you guys but hopefully I can fit in here.
I remember you Bib. Thanks for no trying to water down our our traditional hot rod leanings with your 32...appreciated.[Although the 32 looks nice] Can't wait to see the Big T. Keep is informed on the build-up. Welcome back........
Welcome back. Very nice ride. Let see pics when you get your new project. Sounds very interesting. Keep us posted.
Bib, your "Deuce" and you would fit in anywhere. Glad to see another OG still "hot roddin". Keep us posted on the "T". How in the hell could your Deuce water down some ones "traditional leanings"? Welcome back.
like your idea of using the 215.I had the buick version as well as the olds version. Also a kit to put one in a vega.Had a couple bellhousings, and a 5 speed trans.I sold it all to a friend here in town for $700.00 and he's never used it.I had planned on putting it a mgb but life got in the way.
hey, thats a neat car I dont know what Rock meant either? There must be something about the car that I dont know?
Couple of years ago there were some folks here (the HAMB) that had some very negative opinions of anyone who did not build with old tin. My deuce is glass, and while I really would like to have an original steel car the fact is I'll never have the resources to go that route. I live a mile down a gravel road and I built the car to drive. About 5,500 miles in the past 14 months. Radiator is full of bugs and there are chips in the paint. Every one is a badge of hot rod honor. I pretty much built it myself. That includes the engine, chassis assembly, paint prep, and wiring. A friend sprayed the John Deere Blitz Black and I farmed the interior out. It is the hot rod as I always wanted but it is still glass and has a lot of store bought parts. All thing considered, I'm hoping that those real tin only HAMBers will cut me some slack.
