Hey guys I did a search on this and still not 100% sure what tranny I have. It bolted up to a 440 engine. It came out of a 1973 motor home, the engine ID stamp reads. J 440 T. 5 23. I can't see any ID info on the tranny. From what I've read it might be a 727 but not sure. Any help on this would be great.

It's a 727. No 904's on big blocks. Motor home will have the "Loadflite" version, extra clutch discs and different shift points.

Most likely a 727 B , does it have the e-brake drum on the tailshaft ?

It should be a 727 loadflite. Probably a short tail shaft model. May or may not have the drum on the back for the e-brake, but will have a bolt on yoke.

Look on the oil pan rail, above the gasket, drivers side, just below the shift lever. There is a ID number. Over the years these trannys got changed on the original engine.
