ID This Speedometer

    What is this speedometer from? Got it from Egay. Dated 1948 on back and is made by Waltham Watch Co. thanks.

    It looks like a ford to me. I don't have a 48 but I do have a 46 with the same design. the ring is a little differnt from the 46.

    I thought it might be a Ford part. Tried to google it but i didnt get into it much.

    At first glance it appears very Ford-like, but most Fords (incl. trucks) up until '51-'52 had the speedo integrated into the other gauges or part of a big assembly. It's similar to the 51-52 F-series speedo, but clearly not. (and being made in 48 eliminates that)

    The guy on ebay had it listed as a Hudson or Willys speedo but with a question mark, so he didnt know either. Does anyone else have any ideas?

    '47-8 only...'46 and early '47 different colors and glass.

    If it was a Ford speedo, would it have a Ford logo on it and a part number?

    No, not on this year. Back could have logo of several suppliers.

    Bruce knows what he's talking about. '47-'48, looks just like the one in my '47. '46 had red numbers.

    MINE reads to 160!! Metric export mdel, but scares the hell out of passengers!
