I'm collecting parts to put this car together & could use some help figuring out what it is. Got it out of the junkpile on the farm back home in Montana a couple years ago....The VIN of T111868 is on the upper passenger side of the firewall. Hope the pics come thru.... Thanks, DQ.......
They didn't get thru....something about fricken 'security tokens'!!! I msg'd the admin. To be continued....
I think you all can see it, but the ass end of the touring car had been cut-off and converted to a pickup during the depression. My Dad doesn't know anything about it....he thinks one of the neighbors dumped it in the junk pile decades ago...
Look on the floor on the passenger side where the seat bottom goes. Might be a tag there. I'm saying early 20s dodge.
On the middle front of where the seat cushion would mount, there is a remnant of a tag, but nothing left. The inside of the doors have a door pocket built in to the indentation of the door.
I'm still thinkin this is damn close to what ya got. go to jay leno's garage..look up 1917 dodge or google it. Rick
My computer just flipped out and locked up while I was looking at 27' Dodge pics.... I think we're close, although there are some small differences. Trying to find some pics of the interiors, especially the dash mounting to see if it's the same. Thanks to all for the help so far.... DQ
Pretty sure it is a Dodge. I just did cowl lower patches on a guys 20 touring and the lower cowl edge on yours matches. It has a bulge right where the drivers side of yours has a rust hole. Those were bitchy panels to fab, so I have the contours still in my mind. Another thing is the oval holes for the hood lacing on the firewall edge look the same. I can't tell the Dodge year differences, though.
I went to leno's garage web site and he has a 1917 ..and it shows the pouch in the door.. didn't notice the dash. I've seen one of these in person,, damn it can't remember what it is, but the rear isn't cut off you can convert it to a truck or bolt another row of seats on it, some kind of utility thing, when did they start making buicks, did some research , try a buick
It's definitely a Dodge. Friend of mine had a '24 Dodge roadster that was built from the front half of a touring car. The way the dash mounts in it is just like the one my friend Vern Miller had.
I think you guys nailed it....27' Dodge, give or take a year for maybe some subtle changes. Thanks again for helping a 'newbie' out! DQ
