    Rick 'Ick' McIvor

Born in Canada & Raised in a Small Town Auto Salvage Yard .
His nickname 'Ick' was stolen from his Father Rick Sr., "My Dad was
    doing all kinds
of kustom paint jobs in the late 80's early 90's & was thinking of going
    legit.
His idea was to call his business 'Ick's Kustom Paint' & it never really
materialized, then one day I just signed my work 'Ick' in honour of my
    Pop."
Ick's Underground style came with the Tattooing he did in the mid 90's
At a little shop called 'Alternative Ink' , that took a dive when the
    owners went Bankrupt...

Around 2007 Ick started an online gallery & was packing it with his new
    works when Koolhouse
Publications contacted him & said they would like to do a Feature on
    Him!!
Since then Ick's Work has been published in both 'Old skool Rodz' & 'Car
    Kulture Deluxe',
Plus a feature in The Australian Kustom Kulture Mag 'Deadbeat'.

Doing Charity Pieces has become a regular thing with Ick ...
Including - Tattooing for 'The United Way'
    "Twisted Steel" for Meagan Merlot
    'Scarlett Fever 2 - 3 & 4' for Scarlett James & Retts
    Syndrome
'Leader Dogs' at the Detroit Autorama 2009 & 2010
    'Kawartha Kids Ride' 2009 & 2010
'Breast Cancer Awareness' for Monster BBQ Pit
& 'Helping Hannah's Heart' with a piece for Vintage Torque
    Fest
    etc.

Mark Waldman of the 'Gasoline Gallery' has had Ick In 5 of his shows,
    starting with
    -Twisted Steel 2008
    -New Years Nuisance 2009 & 2010
    -California Screamin' 4 & 5
Ick Does Lots Of Car Shows, Swaps & Panel Jams as Well

Thanks to Some Local pin-heads who adopted Ick & started to show him the
    ropes.
"I owe a lot to them fellows, I Love Hangin' with Them & we all have
    become great friends!".
Now Ick has his own line of Kustom Kulture T-Shirts, Prints & Stickers
    that reflect the Tradition
Of Roth, Mouse, Newt & all of those Crazy Fink Artists From The 60's &
    70's .
"I Love Art, Rodz, Music, Pin-Ups & Just Flat-Out Love Making Art"
It Has Been an Absolute Honour for Ick to Show with some of his 'hero's'
    of the Genre ...
The Pizz, John Bell, Anthony Ausgang, Weesner etc etc...
Hopefully, Ick can Continue to Impress You Lowbrow & Kulture Nutz for
    years to Come ...

Here is some other info about the auction and who has helped out that some of you may not know:

Not sure the HAMB knows what we put together for the Vintage Torque Fest. Jimmy Flintstone contributed helmets to the art show and these were sent out to the artists that agreed to help out back in October. The artists were asked to contribute whatever concept they wanted to the helmets. Almost all of the artists have agreed to contribute the proceeds from the auction to www.helpinghannahsheart.org

This is a medical expense trust set up to help pay the many medical expenses that have accumulated over the past 3.5 years.
For those that dont know, our baby has had different procedures throughout her 3 year life including open heart surgery. She will have to have more open heart surgery again in about 5 years. The doctors have to be paid in order to keep on doing more surgery.
I will get more details as people want to know them.

Visit www.helpinghannahsheart.org for details on what she has gone through.

These helmets are a direct cast off an original German M40 WWII helmet and will fit with the proper lining installed. These helmets are NOT DOT approved so dont think you can wear this out on the street with your motorcycle.
I hope you all will bid these things up.

These helmets cost $40 with nothing on them - just the normal resin.
Add the cost of the time and energy and paint that was contributed by each artist and you see that the helmets SHOULD go for over $100.
The helmets that were auctioned off at the show went for about $150 - $200. But we did not have enough time to auction off ALL the helmets....so Ryan has agreed to auction them here on the HAMB and he has been very gracious in stating that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to www.helpinghannahsheart.org

Thanks for looking and we hope that you will continue to support the cause.

This helmet really has to be seen in person to fully appreciate Ick's work! A truly awesome helmet by a wickedly talented guy!

  21. Wanted the helmet, had a limit set, I had already spent my allowance elsewhere when I realized the next guy in line had outbid me. He retracts leaving me looking like the bad guy.
I don't think so, same reason I don't sell to jerks on Ebay. I'd rather keep the stuff than have the hassels. The other part that pisses me off is the fact that I really wanted this piece of fine art. Someone step up and buy this helmet from John, its killing me.

I was hoping to get a sticky for this - usually want to try to get 1 week of exposure for the artist at the top........
for some reason we are not getting the sticky.....
    can someone ask the moderator?

ICK put a LOT of work into this and I would like to let people see his work.

  24. Thanks John, the exposure for ICK's work is definitely needed. You guys should see his stuff in person, I'm tellin you. Pictures don't to justice to the artwork right Todd? Do yourself a favor and check ICK's Deviant Art page for a more complete list of his work over the years, its just killer!

    Hey Guys
I'm just dropping in to say ... I Had a Blast Painting that Helmet & I'm Glad The Money Raised By All Of These Auctions Is Going For A Great Cause 'Helping Hannah's Heart' !!!

Jimmy Flintstone Did An Excellent & Accurate Job Of Casting The German 'Skull-Buckets' & These Things Look Great 'Plain White' Right Out Of The BOX! ...

Just By The Turn Out Of Gorgeous Helmets, You Can See That John Wells Did An Absolutely Amazing Job Of Organizing This 'Art-Helmet Show' within' His Vintage Torque Fest Show ...
I Say, With Guys Like John Promoting Art & Artists at his Shows,There will Certainly Be Good Things In Store For Kulture-Artists & Collectors Of Kulture Art In The Future =D

I was So Stoked When That Blank Helmet Showed Up At My Door ... I had It Wet-Sanded, Primed & the initial Design Roughed On It That Evening! =D

It was an Absolute Pleasure & an Honor to see my Helmet Displayed Among All Of The Other Beautiful Lids Created By All Of The Extraordinary Artists That Participated In This Artistic Endeavor For Hannah!!

Please Support Hannah & The 'Cause!!
    Happy Bidding H.A.M.B.'ers!
