Looks like it is time to buy a master cylinder , etc for the old bucket
Do I want a floor mount ( I have never owned one like that )
Or do I want to firewall mount it -- The original location was floor
It has disc front / drum rear
Anyone have good things to say about either ?

i dont think there is much difference between the two. whether or not you want it on the floor or on the firewall sounds like a question you should ask yourself.

It sounds like you have been happy with the current system until the m/cyl failed. Why not just get a replacement instead of re-engineering everything. You might get more helpful responses if you said exactly what the "old bucket" was.

We are now to the point on the build that we need to purchase one
it is a 1946 and of course the one that was on it is
    a. no good
    b. not up to the duty anymore
Rather not clutter up the firewal ..but will do that if that system is easier to build and maintain ,

  5. i would do a firewall mount in that desoto. you got plenty of room in there. i took a few shots of it over at richard's, if you want me to post them.
