If you want a nice fit and finish on your coupe's body, you shouldn't be fitting patch panels on that backside until your decklid shows up. You need to stick it in the hole and make the patches match. If you think another body panel (original or repro) will magically fit your body with no work, you will be surprised.

  4. Hey Spencer: I got just got back in town an hour ago. Glad to see such progress. I'm in the "wait for the deck lid" camp on this. You practically building the body so make it fit the panel and deck lid. I saw a 3 window on here that the guy had to slice the quater along one side of the deck lid to pull it in in order to close up the gap. I'm pretty sure it was Flop, and the body was a brookville 32 3 wndw. Check him out while tou wait for your deck lid. TIM car looks good... I stopped on the body and i have the chassis all finished. The motor is in and transmission. I have to order some small parts to mount the rear and get it rolling again. I go on summer break next week so i am pretty excited to get this going.

Alright guys the decklid came in and I am really happy with it. Now, i have to order all the small pieces to get the rumble seat working and sitting correctly. Also, got a nice set of guide lights, 40 pedal assembly, the chassis is painted... hopefully we will be rolling again in the next few weeks on my summer break from college. Thanks for all the support guys!!!

The SAR decklid I used on mine was so nice, I used it to square the whole rear of the car. The under trunk panel came from the Texas guy and was not so great. Not horrible, but not great. But, I always expect some customization on aftermarket sheet metal parts. No biggie.

Wait for your trunk lid, it will all work out. If not, it is only sheetmetal. You are coming along nicely, by the way.

I missed your post that you got the trunk lid figured out. It looks pretty good.

    Keep on it, -Abone.

Thanks for the advice.. i did wait and it fit pretty good needs some tweaking but i am happy with it. I ran into some issues with my hairpins on the car now waiting for some parts and tools to come in from speedway to fix that issue. Also, order a new shifter from Utah so hopefully that will be in next week. Thanks for all the kind words and advice fellow hambers!!!

Cool 5 window coupe. Keep the photos coming.
Miss my 34. Does it have a roll down rear window?
