Last stage of mockup. I am going to tear down and finsh welding the frame. It is hard to do that though. I know not every one likes this style of build. I don't care. I tried to get the puportions and line right. There are a few things I would do different next time but this is the first Hot rod I have built for myself.
I probally would have made the bed 6 or 8 inches longer and moved the wheel base back 4 or 5 inches front and back. But I want to drive it this summer so I am not going to change that. It would be a lot more work. I am going on 2 1/2 years for the build. I worked on it on and off but still I want to drive it and I don't think it looks to bad anway.
pfc, looks good especially like the fact that it has a hood and it flows most trucks done like that look like a pile.. nice work
I like the look! Kind of a 'dirt track racer" look. Maybe additon of white wall cheater slicks out back would be cool too!
I think it looks great!! GREAT JOB!! The only thing i would is paint it shiny for sure, it would make it stand out for sure!! And of course change the rear wheels. I like the proportions. Ian
IMHO, Looks damn good... rear wheels and possibly back bumper, not diggin the new shiny with everything else... But the hood as they said... And the truck is badd asss in my opinion
Thanks for the props. The wheels are for mock up. Probally steelies and hurst black wall cheater slicks 30 by 10 Trying to save my pennies for them. I have less than $1800 in it so far. Truck was free from my uncles place.
How bout some more pics. I like the shit outta it. Steel wheels for the rear to match the front should be easy to come up with. Rear wide whites if you can get em but still a wicked looking truck!
IT IS AWESOME!!! Nice stance and good proportions, then again I am kinda partial to the chopped trucks WITH hoods.
Looks good to me! You can tell you paid attention to the proportions and design when building it. I like a shorter wheelbase like that, I wouldn't move the axles.
I'll add........... Obviously you did it like it is to start with, then changed your mind? For who? For whatever reason, I suggest you stay with your first instincts.
