I am looking for the hurst motor mount for the later Pontiac motor. The hurst part no. is 1774606.
This is not the mount that bolts to the timing cover. These bolt to the side of the block. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a set, or a remake of them?
    Thanks
    Poncho

Are these the mounts that you're looking for? I found them in The HAMB classifies. Used them to put a 326 from a 67 LeMans into my 59 GMC. Don't know of anyone making new ones.

torkwrench is it possible to scan the installation instructions so I can possibly build a set of my own and see what they anchor too besides the side of the block .

I'll have to get my scanner hooked up, first. Basically though, there are two short braces that bolt to the bottom bolt holes in the front of the cylinder heads and run down and back to the side brackets. The side brackets bolt to the stock side motor mount bosses.

I want to say that JCW used to sell a bunch of different engine mount swap pieces.

    Do they still carry them??

I ask because they used to be very reasonably priced, so much so that you could buy something almost easier than you could fab something. IF they still sell them,

There was a guy on here a while ago. Stang65 or 65Stang. he was selling a lot of this Hurst stuff out of his father-in-laws old speed shop in Alabama. My uncle bought a Hurst dropped center link for a '53 Ford from him.

doubt it ,the JCW of old was in several big warehouses spread apart on the south side of Chicago and were massive , the new JCW is in a warehouse that would fit in a corner of the one they showed on the catalog on Cermak rd ( the old Com ed warehouse ) , they hardly have anything other than what we call ABC list sellers , most of the special stuff they order in from outside suppliers if they can get it .

thanks for the photos it helps some on how to put the cups on the end and the tabs for the extensions , I probably will see if I can put the extensions into the lower front cover studs or both sets of them boxing the timing cover in or triangulate the unit using the post 69 f body hole ( using a 455 ) , what size is the material of the angle and thickness ?? the plate for the biscuit mount will more than likely be the same thickness .

The material is all 1/4". Pm me if you need anything else, Gary

  11. I don't think that Hurst makes mounts any more. Some people are repoping the more common ones like the SBC ( which will also work on a W motor with different bolt holes).

But it looks like Gary has us set on the mounts. Wouldn't be hard to fab a set with his dims and pics.

If I had them in hand I could duplicate them, but unless there are 30-40 sets pre-paid it won't happen. Making small runs, 5-10 pieces, just don't pencil out.
Hard to believe that one of the Pontiac specialists hasn't already made some.

  13. One off stuff only really works for someone like me who is supplementing a pension and not trying to raise the kids.

That said we have plenty of Pontiac freaks (for lack of a better word) here it shouldn't be that big a deal to get some of them guys together and get Gary to bang some out. ;)
