Haha, yea, this truck is always at the Newport Hillclimb. In fact, saturday of the Hillclimb, this truck was sitting right next to me in the staging lanes while I was getting ready to run the Desoto and its always interesting to see it 'run' up the hill. You ought to see the fellers that are with that truck... they look like survivors themselves... dang lol.

I was wondering why one of my tires was clean... looks like you caught my friend Josh taking five while admiring his "Krusty Kraut" bug...!



This one is Josh77's car... I think it's the first "Volks Rod" I've seen at the "Pile Up"... "VERY COOL BUG" (1957???)...!!!!

Great pics 63cadguy. Thanks for posting a pic of my Caddy as it is the only one I have at Hunnert. (forgot the camera) At first we were turned away until I explained that Caddy's usually set 'bout 5" higher. Not sure if I should've been allowed or not. What do you guys think?

I agree. It looks plenty low to me. We had a number of Caddys with that problem. They normally sit so high that even when lowered they look like they're at stock height, so it's easy to get confused sometimes when our inspectors only have a matter of seconds to make a decision. We have 3-4 inspectors at a gate, so you could always ask for a secong opinion and get a consensus. I'm glad you got in.

There was a Volksrod there last year that came all the way from California.

Yeah, that blue coupe is Abomber30's of Suicide Axle Hot Rods & Marty & Sons' Body Shop in Sycamore, IL... home of the first 2 Pileups.

 

Can anyone tell me why this show has so many cars and Billetproof detroit struggles to get 500? I love the pile up and wish that the same group would travel to the motor city. what gives?

I dunno. More show competition in the middle of summer?
BPD is only in it's what 2nd or 3rd year? We started off small (80 cars) and by our 3rd year we were only at 400, so you're doing fine. It takes awhile for word and reputation to spread and build.

 

i got drunk, knocked out after falling off a Ranchero that does wheelies in the mud, almost set on fire by a guy on a bike, threatened with bodily harm, had my wife stolen, and got drunk again all at the Pile Up....it was the best year ever.
