Hey fellas, i brought this badge to use on the steering wheel of my 29 Hudson Hot Rod. Im guessing its from the 50s. Could someone please give me an idea of year, and is it off a hood or trunk? I know my early Hudsons, but later models, not so much. Sorry the pics not real good, i can post a better one in the morning.
I'd guess '56 or so, and maybe off the sail panel. Lets see the back to see how it attaches. If it's a horn button the back will tell.

Thanks, i have the 29 in my avatar, and a 28 stock super six project, that i plan on building a speedster with. Pics in my albums
Thanks, i looked it up in my Hudson book. The Hudson trademark was restyled in 46, and went through to 54. The ships symbolize the adventuresome and pioneering spirit of bold and imaginative engineers. The fortresses typify the strength of the great Hudson organization and management, employees and dealers throughout the world. I got that from John A Conde's book, The Cars That Hudson Built. When John was doing research for this book, he asked Roy D. Chapin what he thought the new postwar emblem stood for. He said, oh i think that was just a design we all liked, and decided to use. It had no special significance!

Thanks fellas, i think we have a winner. I payed 27$ for it. Won it on an online auction. Im goi.g to mount it in the middle of the steering wheel, on my 29
The mesh grille came out on both Nash and Hudson Metropolitans in 1956. Look here and scroll down to see the mesh grille on '56 Nash Metros: http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/AmericanMotors/Nash1946-1959.html You can also scroll down on this link for a photo of a '56 with mesh grille http://www.allpar.com/cars/adopted/nash-metropolitan.html My guess is that early '56 Metros still had bar grille while later ones had the mesh grille The round, red Hudson grille emblem on the '56 was replaced in '57 with an "M" that was used on both Hudson and Nash Metropolitans. To suggest a completely different possibility, the emblem you have might be the hood emblem off a '56 Hudson Rambler.
