Don_wow sshipped me one out free if I ever have anything he needs it's his

a year or so ago I was sent a set of front springs for a 29 chevy freight only (sorry I can't remember who sent em) If you read this and it was you remind me. I have had good experiences most of the time. Got burnt once so I figure I am still ahead of the game. Thanks Don_Wow!!

had alot of good deals

bought an magazine from flatordead arrived perfectly
draglinkscc bought magazines of him arrrived perfectly
bought an engine from low_springs , perfect service and arrived all in one piece,
bought a pair of e&j headlights from tommy, another perfect deal, humm being past bedtime i can't recollect anything else, oh humm wasn't it from mart i bought some valve covers + intake? or was it from 32limey or humm was like 2-3 years ago oh darn who was it?, for olds...

from all people i have done deals with everyone has been stand up and fullfilled their part.. only criticism i can put here is about myself for paying for a pair of valve covers to django and being to lazy to sort out shipping for way to long! but ihope everything is sorted out and well wouldn't call that me ripping anybody off or anything but still was pretty lame of me, but otherwise i have been all stand up on all deals...i do tend to be slow to reply to mails and pms to often too though, come to think of it i belive im way over my head into this car thing, i spend like half my salory on car stuff, and i earn decently

Tim did some art work for me. It turned out great, and I was happy to pay his very fair price for it. When I got the T-shirts made I sent him a couple to say thanks. This was a great transaction started on the HAMB. I just wanted to say this to maybe help show there are more good deals than bad.

Thanks

Just drove down to LA yesterday and bought some stuff from plan9 and low springs, had 2 dealings with burndup that went fine, made at least 10 other deals here that went ok. I've accepted that this is one of the better places to make deals. thanks all you guys I'm gonna go jerk off I'm so happy to be here. [IMG]

Here's some of the stand up guys I have dealt with over the years...can't even remember them all and have never been burned.....damn good people on here...hope it stays that way (asskickins for anyone who screws this up!)
Roothawg, flat top Bob,Rocky,Germ,Slazzen,Macs55,Fritz (even though I was slow sending HIM some shipping cash!),there's somebody else that sent me some 40 headlight rings that I can't remember,Radshit....I'm sure there's more...just can't remember them all!

7. Nothing but good news on my end...in fact injectedA sent me some garnish moldings, wouldn't even take a few bucks to cover the shipping....and then on top of that he was immobilized at the time and was sending me PM saying he was sorry he couldn't get them out fast enough. He is one helluva dude in my eyes

As you can see, I'm incredibly new, but I can't fathom screwing over someone on this board. That's akin to shitting in the nest.

You never know what you're going to need later, and when you send it around, you better expect it to come around.

11. I bought a T frame from kartbreaker, and he even dealt with shipping expenses. I'll find out what it's like to buy a car from here in two weeks. [IMG] Oh yeah, and OLDBEET even sent me an electronic ignition setup for a Slant 6, totally free too!

Everyone else I've dealt with has been pretty cool too. I got rear end from HRLC, and she's even getting some in return. [IMG] [IMG] Fathack got a whole car, BELLM got some parts, DIRTYT and I have traded all kinds of shit back and forth, all in all a 100% feedback rating.

Just my experience, your milage may vary.

12. I've bought stuff from HAMBers and sold it to them, too. I've given stuff away to HAMBers and gotten stuff free. IMHO you can pretty much tell from a guy's posts where he (or she) is coming from. In general, I'd rather do business with you guys than just about anyone else on the planet.

I've been on the HAMB for about a month now, and already I've had the pleasure to meet a fellow HAMB'er, Kustom Chief...what a nice guy. Invited me into his home, lent me the Mad Fabricators Society DVD (which RULED), and then fed me pie. Us Jersey guys aren't used to hospitality like that, and I like to think that the rest of the traditional rodding/HAMB community is like that too. Just like how when I broke down on the way to cruise I had about 20+ classic cars pull over and make sure everythong was ok and offer a hand. Stuff like that makes you feel good inside, like you belong to something bigger, not quite and army, but definitely a family. And just like any family and my douchebag uncle, there are people among us who we won't get along with. But just when we get burned or pissed, we encounter people that renew our faith in the human species. the HAMB rules

Yeah Kevin, I think it was called "Debbie Does Hutto" or something. I think I saw Reggie's shop in the background of one of the scenes. [IMG]

NEVER EVER BEEN BURNED by a HAMB'r. Now I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but it hasn't (so far).....

I have met and dealt with many of fine folk right here on the HAMB. I have given away good stuff, I have been given good stuff. I have had trades where I came out on top, I have trades where the other fella' has come out on top. I can't count how many cool deals and friendships have started right here. I'm a cynical fuck, so I don't type these words easily. Some of my deals have been....

SLAMIT - ALL KINDS OF STUFF and a good pal too!
Jerry - Tripower + intake
Mike Landwehr - finned coil/finned timing cover
=Mike= - all kinds of nifty doo dads, for FREE or dumb ass trades
Wasasedan - All kinds of stuff
Butt Reynolds - Grill Trim
BellM-Grill Trim
Chromed Rat-Exhaust Manifold
Boones-Finned Valve Covers
Low-and-Slow - Grille Bar (and a couple of sweet t-shirts)
Happy Hoppy - Bumper
Travis - Exhaust Manifold
Seldom Scene - HAMB relay
DRD57 - HAMB Relay
JimA - Good Guys passes
Abe Lugo - Chebby Overrider

DAMN, I had no idea that list would be that long, and I' sure I'm missing someone.....

Not to mention the guys I have tried to spiff out over the years. Yeah I know, I'll be the next guy to get burned [IMG] [IMG] [IMG], but most of you ASS-CLOWNS are alright....

BE NICE - It tends to go a long way

i almost posted this earlier on the "how to get screwed by hambers" post, but didn't. seems more appropriate here, though.

a couple of weeks ago i posted a WTB ad for an ET 5-spoke wheel.

got two replies. one from a hamber in st. louis for a wheel at a VERY good price. i'm gonna snag it fer sur.

the other from a LURKER in minnesota. had a wheel; wasn't sure it was the correct one. i told him i'd buy it anyway and we'd try to do a hamb relay to here. pretty easy to arrange as trailer ed was heading to minnesota last weekend. so i ask how far it was from where he lived to where trailer was going. 70 miles he says. i respond that it's not worth his gas $ and time to run it down there and that we'd work out something else. at this point it's friday afternoon and my computer is at work where we're e-mailing this stuff back and forth. i can't get to this e-mail addy from home either. so i get back to work yesterday (monday) morning and see his late friday message that reads like this:

"Hey Mike-
You're right, the wheel isn't worth the time and gas to drive it down to Ted, but I took it there anyhow! Actually, it's dark, cloudy, raining, cold and windy today, so it was a good day for some windshield time anyhow. The ball is out of my court now, it's up to Ted and Rusty.
Don't worry about Paypaling me the $20 now, wait until you see the wheel and are sure it's what you wanted. In fact, if the wheel is right for you, send the $20 to Ryan. I only am a long time lurker, but I try to send Ryan some money every so often to help keep the HAMB going.
Have a good weekend! (signed) **** ****"

i hear from trailer ed that the wheel is at his place and i'll go get it soon.

how 'bout that? a lurker gives me a wheel; spends his time and $ to get it to me; and tells me to send the cash to ryan. that's more in line with what i've witnessed from hambers. maybe i'll get burned some day, but so far i've done prolly 10-15 deals on the hamb and EVERY one of them went down good. i've bought stuff; i've been given stuff; i've sent some stuff down the road to other hambers; i've been a sender by hamb relay; i've gotten stuff by hamb relay; i've even been part of delivering a few items by hamb relay. ALL good experiences.

i love this place...

I am fairly new here & have had no problems with HAMBers. I have dealt with a few & all good dealings.

Porknbeaner: very patient on my shipping
leadsleadolds: great transactions on the shift knobs
curly: he waited a month untill I could get to his house for a flatty
CURIOUS RASH: shirts lost in the mail & he worked very hard to get me new ones
new transactions that are going smooth: waiting on a steering column & wheel & some beer signs

Communication is the key to ANY relationship!!!! [IMG]

MY beer sign!

Check your PM's on that shirt thing...

I just received the Vega box from Sodas38, damn thing is better than described.

Gotta admit I was a little hesitant, him being a NEWBY and all but I figured I could hunt him down and kill him in Wichita in just under three hours so what the hell.

Thanks SODAS.

I have had MANY transactions through the HAMB and have only had one let down and it was my own doing. Guy was describing something I wanted REAL BAD, told me it was REAL BAD. I figured it couldn't be THAT BAD.

He was right. He warned me. I blame myself.

Ask the proper questions, do a little CIA background search and you're good to go!

Jerry (don_wow) is a cool guy. I met him in Decatur, IL of all places this summer. It's cool that you never hear from him but he steps right up when someone needs something.

I've had several dealing with HAMBers and have had nothing but great dealings with them all. A couple of guys even sent me parts I was looking for, just for the postage, so they could help me out! I'm repaying their good deeds by helping others out when the opportunity presents itself.

What goes around, comes around!!

29. Enjenjo.. ( did i spell it right? ) is a great guy

Shiped my stuff out pronto, and did a great job making sure nothing gets dinged up, and everything was takn take of .

Got a title for a '28 CCPU from another Hamber and I consider it to be a deal of a century....now if I could only get it done [IMG]

Scrapmetalart...waiting was no big deal at all it just took up the same space that it had for a couple of years already, I aint a fast mover so another year or two would have been ok with me!
