I did a couple of searches for the lengths of different year early ford rear wishbones, but came up blank.
Can anyone list the length of stock early ford rear wishbones, as measured from axle centerline to mounting hole, please.

this is really going to depend on what style you want.
1928-(early) 1931: bolted to the rear end baking plate bolts with strap (essentially)
(late) 1931: same thing, but used a forged end (still relatively weak)
1932: bolted to the bottom of the axle tubes
1933-1934: same as 1932, but slightly different construction
1935-1936: bolted to the bottom of the axle tube with the addition of the rear spring hanger being cast into the bones (very popular for hot rods)
1937-1941: bolted to the ends of the axle housings, but went nearly all the way to the end of the torque tube (need to be shortened for AV8's, etc.)
1942, 1946-1948: bolted to the ends of the axle housings, but only went half-way up the torque tube. these are great for hot rods since they're already short enough but are still plenty strong.

    Mark,

I've got a few different sets sitting in storage. I'll see what I can do about getting some approximated measurements.

I know this, depending on what you're looking for and how you're wanting things configured (as Dr. Z says) that'll make the difference.

For my 1920, which got a shortened rear driveline (by 9 and 1/16 inches) I used a 1933/34 rear set for how they attach to the axle bells. They had to be shortened, but not too much.

For the 27 on the A chassis, I am running 1935/36. They're too long and need to be shortened for an A chassis but, again, the way they mount suits my build. Plus, I'm running a 36 rear with a quickie and converted to juice brakes. So, the bones and the 36 bells work already.

I'll get some approximates tomorrow and report back. I know, for sure, I've got a stock A set, a modded 33/34 set, and 35/36s. I may have a 40 set, too, I can't remember.

    Thanks Brent.

I have a 35-36 one here, and a 46-48 coming and it's the later one I'm really interested in.
Seeing as though I couldn't find the info I need, I thought it best to have all the measurements listed
DrZ your descriptors are great, thsnks

the '46-'48s will be 44-1/2" from the front bolt hole (of the rear) to the hole where it mounts on the torque tube.
