I replaced the subrails and rear cross channel on my 31 CC pickup. I’m only getting around an 1/8” overlap where the door meets the body at the rear pillar. Is this typical? Since I’m rebuilding this from scratch, I’ve got nothing to go by. Should it be more, like a 1/4” or so or am I just overthinking this? Otherwise, the doors fit pretty well with the belt lines lining up.
I’d get the roof wood in and get that all buttoned up first. Here is what I have on mine which is 5/16”. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
You're overthinking it. If the door fits good and the latch engages the striker fully then you're good.
Lloyd has a point, but as I mentioned the wood should all be in place. Mine is a late 31 Budd built cab with the all metal roof, but everything else is the same along with the fit. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I penciled a line on the body and then opened the door....shoulda done that first. I have roughly a 1/4" all the way down, but yeah, top wood installed would be the clincher. Thank you both for your help.
Im always amazed why the vickys and slant sedans have doors that didnt overlap as I understand it but the other models didnt. Anyone know why that is?
