    ALSO....

Need some ideas on a new reliability run to replace Galveston. Let's start thinking twice a year for these. I still want to do one down the beach but we're obviously in a wait and see mode for something local.

So this is the route I'm thinking of...which was brought up before and everyone liked.

Conroe, Montgomery, Plantersville, Anderson (BILL!), Richards, Huntsvile, Trinity, ...then...dunno. :D Just that route is 100 miles by itself which is nothing because Galveston was 204 miles.

Somewhat scenic. Somewhat coolish weather wise. Shop crawl. Beer, food, and party at the end.

So...won't make the Oct. 5th meet...finishing rear brakes, re installing front seat and checking wiring for final inspection and need to put a couple miles on her to be sure all is good, but wanna catch up with you guys and officially introduce myself by November...Also look forward to some of these bi-annual cruises...Infact some of the routes between conroe and college station can be nice and sceneic...plus lake sommerville can provide some decent camping...just an idea.

  5. See ya'll there.

I'm making a run to Crockett, Texas the night before. I'll try to be back Sunday.

Stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. On the rearend of a traditional T bucket, buggy or coil springs? I'm leaning towards buggy spring.

  8. Buggy is more common, but I have seen some with coils(not coil-overs) from the 60s that were pretty cool. But then you need some type of lateral locator, like a panhard bar.

From what I have read and heard, a buggy suspension negates a panhard bar.

I know Collins and several others won't be there.

I may not be either depending on whether or not I can get my garage sorted out.

Buggy Spring. I'll have to get some pictures of my friends T bucket back in the UK. He has it up for sale at the moment.

That's cool. But lets still meet up at the Dark Horse and then caravan over after an hour or so to give stragglers a chance to show up.

    leaving now, bringing the boy

  24. I didn't make it, not too wild about the Alabama Ice House. Long drive for $4 beers. I really liked Jimmies better than the Dark Horse as well, dollar beer and do it yourself BBQ pits was nice. Unfortunately, I hear Jimmies is closing down.

Sorry I missed you. Actually had a good turnout by around 6:00, we all went over to Jimmy's and then on to the Rose Garden.

So the 2:00 start time is just a guideline? I was there from 2 until 3. I finally gave up and met doc in the parking lot. Nice truck!

Usually I'm there, Richard D, and a couple of others right at 2:00. There was just a lot of other stuff going on.

Show up next month and I'll be there at 2:00 sharp. PLUS, all the parking behind the Dark Horse will be roped off just for Hot Rods and Bikes!

But wait, there's more,...much more. There will also be a British Bike Swap meet going on!!!

Now, without more November's cruze would be a bargain at half the price, but there will also be: vendors, and Bands!!!

I think November's Cruze will more than make up for your lame experience this month. So, give us another shot and you won't be disappointed.
