When I had a house in the Bay Area (Fremont), I got home around 5-5:30 from work...spent a few hours in the garage. In my garage was my lathe, MM35, plasma cutter, torch, etc. It was a small two car and I'd roll things out to the driveway and work on whatever heap I had. Roll the heap back in around 8pm or so, put all my other stuff back in and move my daily in too.

    Never got a complaint.

Now...(was just moved into the City limits, but still not "City"), I've had an OT car in the air on jackstands in the driveway for 3-4 months. Looking redneck as all get out, and nary a word.

It's two things...where you live and how you live.
