Right now it says 50% chance of rain on Friday and Saturday and hot. In the mid 90's every day.

HRR still a long way off. Maybe it will be like 2013. Temps in low seventies no humidity or rain.

A few years back i sat under my tent and watched folks leave because of the rain. Most of em. weather cleared out, they finished the drag race and i had one of the best HRR I've ever had. I aint gonna melt.

Found a crack in the trans case today so it's coming out tomorrow and a new one going in tomorrow night/ Saturday. Nothing like a mad dash to the finish right?

You have to go into bowling green knowing it's going to rain. It does it every year.

I'll be going Friday & Saturday for my first time, what's to be expected? From reading here, it sounds similar to the Indy goodguys when it was back at the Raceway Park 6+ years ago. Show and Shine, swap meet and nostalgia drag racing?

How is the swap meet, pretty big? are there the big name vendor trailers there? Any show buildings to get inside to beat the heat, or rain?

I enjoy the swap meet I have been to bigger and smaller swap meets but there is usually some cool stuff.
    No show buildings.
There are Some big vendors. There is a good cruise in at the Holiday inn at night.
Look forward to a good time.

36DodgeRam, the HRR is like IRP on steroids. Trust me when I tell you the Nostalgia drag racing is non stop. IRP has bleachers out in the sun which are quite a ways back off the track. Beech Bend does not have bleachers. The spectators chairs are covered not out in the sun and are right on top of the track. Swap meet and vendors are not the attraction at the HRR. Nostalgia drag racing is what its all about. Just remember to bring ear protection. See you there.

It's the only event that I actually look forward to every year!
I have only missed a couple of times and that was because I had no choice.
Be prepared for a hot time, they don't call it "Boiling" Green for nothing!

I agree it's the racing. I'm on my third year and the racing is the best. And everything else is a plus. Going to try camping this year. It is nothing but a gas.
